    Just saw this. Strong argument for GOAT. I'll never forget hearing Tom Sawyer in my buddy's older brother's room. Even before I was old enough to appreciate a particular instrument or dissect a given song, there was just something about Rush that was different. That was Neil. RIP.

    His life was not without tragedy. His book 'Ghost Rider:Travels on a Healing Road' gives an insight into the forces that made him arguably the best rock drummer in the world and his inner strength to survive events that would destroy lesser men.

    I once went skinny dipping in Lake Minnetonka with Rush. Neil (and it's spelled Neil Peart for goddsakes Bunion) didn't go in the lake, but stayed on the beach composing Lakeside Park. RIP Neil.

    yea, i remember when rush came back in 2002 with vapour trails. only then learned that neil had lost his daughter and then his partner 5 years earlier rapid succession;
    at that point could fully appreciate what it meant for rush to be back. caught 4 shows on that fantastic tour.
    i still look back on the release of permanent waves and then seeing rush during that last tour playing theaters (palladium NYC may 8, 1980) as a turning point in my musical life. as i posted elsewhere that album still sounds fresh. so easy to focus on neil's ever-amazing yet tasteful drumming, but imagine RUSH without his lyrics and his contribution looms that much larger. and props to neil for disavowing ayn rand.

    RIP neil and thank you.

    When I was 12 Moving Pictures was released and it was absolutely life changing musically for me. Saw them many, many times all over. I've been through a few people close to me that have died of glioblastoma, not a nice tumor. Glad he had a few years retired to spend with his wife and daughter.

    I need to go to Utah.
    Utah?
    Yeah, Utah. It's wedged in between Wyoming and Nevada. You've seen pictures of it, right?

    So after 15 years we finally made it to Utah.....

    Thanks BCSAR and POWMOW Ski Patrol for rescues

    Cool memory!

    RIP Neil. You fucking rocked. I saw them twice in DC in the late 1980s. Tight band.
    I stayed up late last night and watched their Netflix documentary. Now I listen to them at work.
    They think I do not know a buttload of crap about the Gospel, but I do.
