Damn, Tribe dealing from a position of depth in SP, sends Clevinger (who was just asked back to the big league club after being sent to the alternate site purgatory for lying to the team about sneaking out and breaking COVID curfew) and likable platoon outfielder Greg Allen to the Padres for a haul of 6 players including their 7, 9 and 11th ranked prospects.

Eye towards the future in this one for the Tribe. I will miss Clev, but he's arbitration eligible next year and he's coming off back to back surgeries from this spring and last spring. I'll take it.

RIP Tom Seaver. One of the most dominant pitchers of all time. Damn sad.

On a lighter note, Vin Scully joined the twitters if you want to talk some baseball with him.

Yes, RIP Tom Seaver, one of the greatest.

I had forgotten that he ended his career with the '86 Red Sox. Who knows, if he wasn't injured, he could have been pitching that fateful game 6 and made Mookie pop up.

    RIP Tom. 61 shutouts, wow.

I can see this Vin Scully thing going awry.
@VinScully: Who is this @Joeygiantsfan64, and why is he telling me I suck Tommy Lasorda's dick?

    God bless him though.

I'd have had him spend a day in the ECRC or America Burning thread just as a test before embarking on this.

I guess we are fully at that stage of some of the players I first admired in this game are going to be dying so it’s gonna suck just a little bit more.

RIP Lou Brock. Even though I was young, I knew he was just better than most others on the field.

^^^ as a young Cubs fan I was shaking my head knowing they traded Lou. It just seemed to make sense when the Cubs sucked all those years. Wrigley was a cheap dumbass.

LOL Yankees get destroyed by the Blue Jays so they accuse the Jays were stealing signs. They also blamed the lights.

Didn't see one link to even a non-reputable source about the Yanks blaming the Jays for stealing signs. I could write something about giving a year to the very elderly and finished Bret Gardner and watching him struggle to reach the mendoza line during a shortened season though.

Do the Blue Jays collectively see better in the dark than the Yankees? In the baseball league I play in, one field has lights. The lights don't illuminate past a certain height so when someone sky's a pop up you lose it for a few seconds before it re-enters the illumination zone. It's highly entertaining.

$324 million down the drain. You don't need a playoff pitcher if you're not in the playoffs.

If George were alive Boone would have been fired and rehired 2x by now.
