    MLB 2020 Thread

Wow. Total breach of decorum here not to let a Nats fan start the thread. Classic Yankees.

But excited for baseball to start back up. Should be an interesting season to say the least.

    Let's go Mets!

The second greatest player in baseball, Frankie Lindor, accepts the Indians’ first offer to avoid arbitration. My guess is he’s throwing the home team a bone before they send him to LA for a king’s ransom.

One last ride with a very, very capable squad and one of the best rotations in ball.

    Let’s Roll Tribe.

Cole, Tanaka, Severino, Paxton, Happ (for now). Pretty good starting 5, Happ not great, but he eats innings. If the Yanks trade him, they have other arms to fit in the 5. Too bad they let Betances walk though.

As frustrating as the off season was for Los Doyers, I’ve talked myself into them again. It’s still a 106 win team bringing back almost everyone, and stacked with young talent. Not to mention no one in the NL West is going to challenge them.

They probably need to still make an in season move, but they’ve got a shitload of assets to get something done. Hopefully Cleveland starts slow (sorry BMills), and they can get Lindor.

    Let’s Go Dodgers!

They signed.... Jimmy Nelson? I think that was his name. Don't know if they fancy him as the #4 starter or long relief.

I would gladly trade Seager, Joc, and maybe Srripling for Lindor and that pitcher (Clevinger?).

Los Doyers would have to send over the entire minor league system for both Frankie and Sunshine Clevinger.

    All of it.

Astros punished, but retain tainted title.

    Here are the reported penalties:

One-year suspension for general manager Jeff Luhnow.
One-year suspension for manager A.J. Hinch.
The loss of first- and second-round draft picks in both 2020 and 2021.
    A $5 million fine.
The placement of former Astros assistant GM Brandon Taubman on baseball's ineligible list.

Your turn in the woodshed Sox.

    Baseball’s ineligible list?

Pete will no doubt have something to say about this.

astros owner just let the gm and hinch go

given that the red sox are next, me thinks the yankees just got the highway to the world series opened wide with no traffic for the forseeable future

(great yankees and cowboys about to be wall to wall if mcarthy shakes out well; ugh)

Bad look that Carlos Beltran didn’t get punished (yet) for his involvement.

Somehow it’ll turn out Bill Belichek is actually the reanimated corpse of Arnold Rothstein.

Not going to lie, this seems kinda crazy for sign stealing, which is like one step above the hidden ball trick.

All last year I felt there was kind of a weird look in Cora's eyes, not confident like you'd think from a guy who just won the series in his first year, more like worried or even scared. I bet this shit was weighing on his mind.

Honestly they should just make sign stealing legal and then let the pitchers and catchers figure out new ways to relay pitch calls.

But this is a really bad look for Houston and Boston. Sox seems like they weren’t quite to the level of the Astros, but Cora may get it hard if he was involved in both.
