Unless Mookie is good for 10 RBI a game the Sox would be just as bad with him as without him.

Such the pessimist. If he got 10 RBI’s and pitched a couple scoreless innings per game and they are right in the mix.

Too much? It’s not like I am asking him to start.

I have never checked, cuz why would I. But theoretically, could an AL team put that days starter in at DH? I guess the Halos may have if that was a thing, so maybe not.

No. I was laughing at the thought of any Red Sox pitcher getting a couple of scoreless innings

There is still time. It could happen. Maybe.
It’s good having zero expectations this year though, cuz this team is really awful.

You want team unity? You got it.

After sending our #5 starter Plesac home from Chicago in a car for breaking curfew and partying it turns out #2 Clevinger was with him. After he gave an impassioned clubhouse speech defending Sac. Both get placed on COVID reserve. THEN, after they clearly didn’t get it the team had them drive in their own cars to Detroit, with gear, only to be both optioned to the aaa “alternate site”.

That’s 2/5 of the best starting rotation in baseball benched for being selfish assholes. A team decision. Players and all. Ufda.

They did win their EIGHTEENTH in a row over the Motor City Kitties though so, hey... ROLL TRIBE.

I heard the Cards need to play around 20 games before the end of August to keep pace for the 60 game season, they've only played like 5 so far?

Put a fork in the whole fucking thing, cardboard cut out fans and all. It's fucking stupid

That little video is exactly why he’s sitting in COVID AAA right now. Clearly doesn’t get it.

No, I just think it’s a very useful word.

In other news, your Cy Young front runner Shane Bieber made it 19 Ws in a row over De-twah last night.

    Woah Bravos!

Down 6-3 in the 9th and they connect with 2, 2-run homers to stun the Nats (Swanson with the Walkoff).

They seem to have a knack for this walkoff stuff this season.

    That guy from San Diego?
Hit a 3-0 pitch with the take sign on, while leading by 7 in the 8th.

Can't do that according to unwritten rules.
    I say fuck that.

I mean the A's beat the Giants a few nights ago down by 5 in the ninth. Broke a 2133 game Giant's record of not having that happen, so yeah, kinda rare, but still...

I wanna see the new star swing, not stand.

Ok so I had never heard of this unwritten rule, I'd blame it on me being a newish fan but I've been into baseball for a few years now so I probably don't get to claim ignorance.

With baseball being such a stats based game I'm surprised to learn of this 'rule'. It's nice not to completely demolish your competition but at the same time guys are building their numbers right?

Honest question - would a pitcher who's getting close to pitching a no hitter be pressured to throw something hittable if the other team is being massively destroyed? (didn't think so)
