    Flame away...DPS

Recently spent some time on the DPS Wailer 105 Hybrid T2 Skis 2017 at Squaw in terrible conditions and consider it the friendliest, fun ski I’ve been on in 15 years. Regrettably the ski is not mine and I can’t track another set down.

Given the Mag knowledge, can you point me towards a comparable DPS ski?

Why not message DPS and just ask them?

And they might even have a pair sitting in the back of their store.

Bummer, i literally just sold a pair two days ago on gear swap, sorry!

that said, if I were you I would call ski essentials in Vermont and see if you get lucky.

if you are a squaw regular, and know John Drollinger, see if you can buy his pair too (likely you were skiing his pair?)

edit- and if you can’t find a pair, the 191 head monster 108 (a little more directional) & the 192 Stockli stormrider 110 (a touch less directional, and a touch less rebound) are probably the most similar skis - though neither are exactly common either.

Thought they just went 178 and 185cm on the 105 Hybrid T2s. 191 = manly.

I passed on a cheap pair of 185 T2s last year cause I had no idea DPS made this ski. If the opportunity ever presents itself, I really need to get on a pair.

I don’t know John and was skiing on my brothers pair. We’re twins, been at it for a long time and 225# with gear. Simply the most enjoyable ski I’ve been on in years. My current every day ski is the Cochise and it feels like a slug in comparison.

    Thanks for the help Mags!

I appreciate the comments and wish I trolled gear swap more often. Checking in with your Vermont shop.

Thanks. What’s the markets on un mounted Volant Spatulas these days? I think I grabbed them via Shane or TGR a decade ago.

texted Conor at DPS (the guy to call for anyone from TGR who needs something really!), and John as well.

no dice at DPS. Conor does have a 178cm if anyone is looking for a little pair.

will update/intro if John is keen to sell his

do think calling ski essentials is a good plan too.
if memory serves, only 25 of these skis were made, and ski essentials bought about 1/2 of them.

Just thought I would add a plug here for the 105's.
I ski an older pair of 188 Pure 2's, flex 3, and they just charge as a DD. Never got a ride on the T2's...

    haha!

exactly... why I am thinking their might be a pair kicking around.
they loved all the T2 metals (mainly 85 & 95), and brought the range in.

@Creeker - if you find a 191cm Head Monster 108 (actually 110mm) or Monster 98 (actually 100mm), pull the trigger on them sight unseen. They are about the only other very similar skis (stiffness, flex, damping, rocker profile, directional nature) out there to my knowledge and experience.
