Booked a stay night before last at one of our local luxury "fly fishing" lodges for my wife's birthday. The place was dope, especially if you like yoga and/or overpriced guided tours of the park.

Even though it looked like it had never been used, they did have a tying bench on site so they get points for that.

I did manage to wet a line in the private pond on the property. Slow stripped a leach, got a couple nibbles, but nothing to hand. View was awesome though.

Kid caught her first trout, Brown trout, butter stick, brown town, buttah fish today...
Disclaimer it was caught on trout magnet on a ultra light spin rig but I’m proud none the less.
She had been less than interested in fishing, but she was “all in” and kept at it after we landed this little guy. Click image for larger version.

John_B yesss sir, shefish. I was told it’s a relative to carp.
Little backstory, spent 3 weeks last summer fightin fire in AK. This was on the Kobuck river near Dahl Creek, AK.
About 30 seconds of a fun fight then was like reeling in a big rock.
A nice little reward after living in a wet tent and everything being wet for 12 days!

Yo Phall, you still going to make your Smith River trip? Just curious. The wife and I are headed to the pad in Swan Valley sooner rather than later to hole up and hide from the world. Probably will be social distancing in the South Fork a whole bunch in the coming weeks and months

As of now we're planning on putting in still. If anyone takes a turn health wise between now and then, we're probably out, or if there's some crazy order to shelter in place for the long haul.

2020 FISH SQUEEZING EXTRAVAGANZA!!

Still doing my social distancing in Pisgah National Forest. The fish have been extremely picky. Plenty of bugs coming off, but rarely a rise. I have a Love/Hate with the Davidson...but it’s literally a 10 minute drive from our rental.
At least I can completely forget this fucking nightmare for a few hours a day.

Well it wasn't tuna fishing off Costa Rica but I'll take what I can get. Little dude had a blast and pulled up one if the biggest crappies I've ever seen caught. Be a lot more fishing this week since the statewide shut down was announced yesterday.
