Nice picture from the cave. Bummer on not drawing. It's getting tougher every year.

If anyone pulls a June or early July date, I will be passing thru Camp Baker on 5 work related merry go rounds on the Smith. Glad to share current, up to date fishing, camping intel etc. I'll be in Baker June 10, 15, 21, 27 and July 2.
I'll be driving a silver F-150 pulling a gray Clack Eddy or Blue NRS Otter depending on flows.

Negative here. One of the crew last year’s buddy drew......for 4/4. That might be a tough sell, but damn I wanna get back on that river.

Anyone in the greater SLC area (Green, etc) going out in the drift boat the weekend of 3/20, 3/28, 4/4? Id love to get some time behind the oars (AKA learn, since i've spent a total of 1 hour behind oars) in preparation for my Smith trip.

This. Also Smith is a pretty easy float. If your buddy is expecting you to row him into fish that's a different story. Also depends on rubber vs drifter etc(flow dependant). If all else fails I'll happily row for a Smith invite..have boat(s) and in MT.

Thanks all, just a skillset I want to have (General knowlege). I get the point the bow where you don't want to be and back row away. I think I'll be ok, figured id tag on on a float if at all possible ahead of time. I just need people to have lower expectations of me rowing them in to fish and just let me focus on getting them down the river

    Props to SAGE

If you remember, last year I linked up with some old friends from Missoula and we fished the Blackfoot. We went to stretch on the north fork that required a rappel down. Like a dumbass I put my rod together. When I got to the bottom of the rope, the tip section of my rod was gone. We looked all over with no success.

The rod was my first premium rod, I bought it in the early 90’s. A 5 weight SAGE RPL. Fantastic do-it-all rod. I procrastinated all last summer, but finally sent it in to SAGE. No warranty as the problem was my fuckup. They custom built a new tip section and had it back to me in slightly over a week at a cost of $125, which I think is dirt cheap.

Service like this is why I am a SAGE fanboi.
