    i pulled the boat out thurs night
    and was gonna play the hudgeflyfisherman dont choclate milk booze cruise card and audible when fri dawned clear and the vis went to tea

    loaded up

    puts the groms up front


    and headed back downstream


    plied the waters hard had a few eats

    stopped for lunch


    switched guides

    neither was catchin aspect of the fishing

    very few surface strikes, tho there were a couple
    nymphs, some of the euro variety
    streamers would have worked too - saw couple steelheaders plying their swinging trade
    understandably not many folks on the river overall

    as happens we reached the take out roos ran me to my rig
    made er to dino and the dispensaries' for 7 and starvation for 10
    woke & boke early had the hog in by sunup and started catchin often


    that time of year

    got some bronze backs to play


    pulled over climbed up the bluff and checked the back bay for targets
    targets acquired rowed over and took sum shots


    found another pod
    fuckin 3'er hovered but didnt eat then spooked the pod
    the 1 hour windless window ended
    but i managed a drift by hook up on another piggie pooper


    was hopin for the walleye to circle the starvation slam bases
    but eyes on the flies aint easy

    Yep. I used to hit that area a lot in the fall until like 10yrs ago when it started to see a lot of walk/wade guide traffic. Reminds me I need to refresh my bear spray supply.

    got up early, walked the railroad tracks in the dark, got my first trout on a mouse pattern, saw 53000 turkey, 40 deer and the first 3 elk Ive ever seen on this rubber infested tailwater. 10/10 would do it again!Click image for larger version.

    Need to up my picture game, nice day on the Snake yesterday with good cutty action sipping baetis. Also missed a slab of a brown swinging along a rock wall. My downfall is always seeing them coming.
