Got away for a day and a night minus the raft with boogerd hub. Experienced 50 knot winds, snow, 20 inch white tuna, small arms fire, 500 bazillion stars and a couple butterballs. Ran into Lumpy and fished his front porch. Gawd I wanna go again next weekend. #pinkbobbersfortheboobers

Some cool tr's in here. Well done.

Just spent 6 days off grid. Compared to scene last weekend, this couldn't be more opposite. Think 5 topper rafts, floating in jeans, and burning your home garbage type crowd. But I was able to find solitude and while the fishing was slow, the area is one of the best of last best places.

Base camp. I could live here.

    View was great.

Each morning I'd get up early and head to the upper valley to watch the sunrise. One of my favorite places in the world.

Saw some cool birds playing on the river bank. Pretty sure this is a yellow warbler.

One day we explored a trib and found this kick ass meadow. The water looked killer and I will be back soon with a fly rod.

Every night it dropped below freezing. Last night was in the 20's and the sunrise this morning was surreal. I had to head back to my favorite spot before taking off and get one more.

    This place really is spectacular.

Section A was busy as expected for the holiday weekend, but we were still able to find some space. Lots of clicking this afternoon, wife stuck this one on the big foam. Love that stretch of water

This dry fly eater pic is blowing up the east coast trout scene. Don’t know the guy but apparently his dad hooked the fish and handed him the rod.

There will be more than one carp video. I’ve been shooting them for the past couple weeks.

Went to poopfish paradise yesterday, and it’s game on.
I have those dates locked in with Wando next week, but it could be spawning fuckiness by then. Hope to see you there. I think we’ll have 4 boats.

Lurk here and rarely post, really enjoy the photos. Hardly chase trout anymore as I have migrated over to Pike and Bass several years ago. Landed my best Pike so far yesterday.

Been camping up on one of my favorite local trout streams for the past few days. Nothing too exciting, just chillin', nymphing up some trout, and enjoying the beautiful weather.

Heard rumors about some action down south so we loaded up the Striker to go see what the fuss was about.

Made our way to the put in. It is primitive to begin with but you have to go through a forest service campground to access it. Got down and the gate was locked. Guess they have been closed due to Covid and don't open until tomorrow. Fuck.

So we started carrying the boat down the road.

More carrying. We actually passed through some nice inland old growth.

We finally got to the start of the actual put-in. Now we only had about another 1/2 mile and maybe 6-700 vertical feet.

It is kind of a bitch.

But as the river draws nearer, the stoke starts to build.

    Finally.

And sure enough, they were there!!

Fishing was ON FIRE. Countless eats on big bugs from start to finish. No true hawgs but I'll take fish like this on a big dry all day long.

    Or this

Such a cool piece of water. OG Striker for life.

Before I broke down camp, I got up early to catch the sunrise.

And watched a few birds. Like this Red Naped Sapsucker.

    Now back to reality.
