Middle Fk Salmon permits and summer BBI

I just put in for Middle Fork permits. The Deadline is 12/31/2019.

    Dates I submitted are:

    6/25 High Water
    7/22 Sun and fishing
    7/23
    7/29

    01-10 people – Up to 8 Days (7 nights)

    11-20 people – Up to 7 Days (6 nights)

    21-24 people – Up to 6 Days (5 nights)

    https://www.recreation.gov/permits/234623

All my launch dates are Wed. or Thurs. I would prefer to keep the trip size under 20 peeps and under 16 is ideal. Something like 5 rafts and a number of kayakers. I am cool with hauling some Kayak gear.

If any other maggots want to submit applications and declare that I can go if they draw I will do the same for them. You will need to show proof that you did actually register for the Lottery.

About me. Old guy (62) have my own raft etc and was a River Ranger on the Middle Fk for 5 years, 45+ trips so I know the river and the camping pretty well. I like beer, 420 friendly.

The June date will most likely be burly high water and the potential for some solid but straightforward C-4 whitewater. July trips are hot with decent flows and excellent weather and fishing and some easier C-3.
I have been in this State for 30 years and I am willing to admit that I am part of the problem.

I'll be doing this, MoF. But the deadline is a little confusing. Either way, I'm down and I will be submitting for a permit. I've gotta do a little more checking with the dates.

On this website (https://www.recreation.gov/lottery/available), it shows the following for the end of the application period:

When you click on the MF link, it then says the deadline is at 11:59 PM, EST on January 31st:

Just gave me heart palpitations. The website says the deadline is the end of January.

I’m planning on getting scheming on permits in the next week or two.

I put my dates in. Not much match but I can and will outfit group gear (not boats) for up to 24 people out of Boise if anyone wants to extend an invite.

    Hi Bunion,

Thank you for applying to the Salmon River 2020 lottery. The lottery drawing recently took place and, unfortunately, your application wasn’t successful.

No 0permits all for our group. I think a few more should go to the public and a few less to outfitters.

It definitely makes it easier. Did the Middle Fork pre-season a couple years ago. Mid-April. Fishing sucks, gotta wear a dry suit, but yeah, no permit competition. No people either. Got another invite this year but April skiing at Big Sky is pretty hard to pass up..
