    Sickle 186cm Recommended Mount Point

Anyone happen to remember what the recommended mount point was on the old 186 Sickles?

IIRC, there’s a mfr mark on the skis - I mounted mine there (boot sole center) and they were good.

The old Blister reviewer (Ellsworth?) might have mounted +2, but that would’ve been too forward for my taste.

Yep, I’m trying to find out where from true center that mark was.

IIRC, it was around -6.5 from center.

Still have a pair. Recommended is -6cm from TC.

When I switched from the metal Katana 184 to the Sickle 186 as my daily driver, I initially mounted the Sickle at +2cm (-4cm from TC) per Blister’s recommendation. It felt waaaay too far forward at the time. Remounted at - 6cm on the Sickle and skied it that way for 250-300 days.

But I think the reason it felt too far forward is because I was used to the Katana, mounted around -12cm from TC.

If you are used to progressive mounts of around -3 cm from TC (like the Black Ops 118 or Bentchetler 120 or the Kartel series), then mounting the Sickle +2cm of rec will probably feel better than the rec’d line.

It skis pretty well anywhere -4 to 7. It was ahead of its time.

I own 4 pairs. -7cm from true centre is the 0 mark.

Same here. About to try the Folsom Primary SRC as a replacement. Was on +2 on the Sickles and I think the equivalent on the Primary comes to -4.5.

I went -1.5 on mine and wouldn't change a thing. Still a daily driver on anything softer, and will miss 'em when they're gone. Word on the street is that 4frnt Devastators may be a good replacement, looking for thoughts...?

Really depends on how much you love the reverse camber. It‘s more exaggerated on the Devs and the platform felt a lot shorter unless on edge, whereas Sickles were more flat camber.
