Pumpkins, Black Keys, Drive By Truckers...

The Strokes, half of Oasis, Joan Jett, and many more!

I’m pumped for this spring’s Shaky Knees festival. Who’s in? The weather is fucking gorgeous that time of year.

    Wow.

Great lineup right to the bottom of the sheet.

Damn. You know it’s a good fest when Orville Peck is 6 lines down.

Only problem is which stage to watch when. There has to be some serious overlap.

Saw Pumpkins last year and they played a great set. Jimmy Chamberlain was pounding. Played some ambitious covers: Bowie’s Space Oddity; Fleetwood Mac’s Landslide; and Stairway to Heaven (straight).

Just saw The Black Keys again a few weeks ago in SF. They were awesome, as always.

I know it’ll always be “Billy’s band”, but to me, and I know I’ve said it here somewhere before, Jimmy is the driving force behind their music. Dude flat out wails and can change the dynamic of a song in a heartbeat. I’m super pissed I missed the Shiny and Oh So Bright Tour. Hope they continue to rock at this stop.

I like hearing this. Their new album has been really enjoyable.

Took a deep dive into the Black Keys this week. Akron sure did make a couple of legit rock n rollers with these dudes.

    Funny too.

Hmm, I caught them at the Boston Garden a few years ago, not very good. Cage the Elephant on the other hand, opened and blew them away.

It's sad to see Ian Noe on that lineup knowing that he hasn't been in a state to tour in several years.

Hmm. I’ve seen them three times, all in very different venues (indoor, outdoor, etc) and they always delivered. Maybe just an off night or not your jam?

Live music comes down to the drummer, Patrick Carney is not a good drummer.

The White Stripes drummer was always criticized, but they are still one of the best live shows I've ever seen. Although, I may have been mesmerized by Megs boobs bouncing as she hammered on the kit.

And ya, I saw Cage back up Beck and their live performance is incredible. We actually bailed on Beck to get a jump on the drive home.

Carney is a good drummer. 2-man bands kinda demand it in my opinion.

That said, looking back at that Shaky Knees lineup I’m reminded that Jimmy Chamberlain is one of the best drummers. Hands down.

They just canceled their whole tour, I’m sure ticket sales were weak, but come on man.
