I ate the Carls Jr version and bought the same in patty form at the grocery store. The former was way better but doubtful I'll get another. The biggest problem with the latter -- as it cooks it smells like dog or cat food, so if anybody else is gonna do a comparison I recommend cooking it outdoors.
Guaranteed there are no people who make great burgers that are also saying the fake burgers taste great.
Them saying it: "Buy this cuz it tastes just like a Whopper."
Me hearing it: "If it tastes like a Whopper, I'm never again gonna buy a Whopper (nor go to BK)."

All this hoopla - figured I'd see what it's about - I just tried one. From what I can remember of Whoppers, it does indeed taste like one. Also makes you feel like you ate one. One and done. Won't say I regret it but sort of...yeah.
I would give Impossible meats another whirl but from a proper restaurant - this BK version is the only thing available in my region. More curious about it than thinking this is for me.

I don't even have to read that link, I worked for a number of years in close contact with the meat and poultry industry. Don't buy ground beef out of one of those tubes. Just don't do it. I don't expect many here would.
What you should do is buy ground beef that was ground in the store or grind your own. Failing that, and I do, try to limit your burgers and any ground products as much as possible, and go for the less-sketchy as much as possible. Never mind the hot/crazy matrix, it's the hungry/sketchy matrix that matters.

If You Tell Me What It Means I'll Buy You a Drink
I already told you once.
This is why it was fun at the bar. Some guy: The fuck does that shit mean? Me: If you tell me what it means I'll buy you a drink.
hilarity ensued.
