Sort of like that but a wider board with the feet more perpendicular, not 90 degrees but more like you'd stand on a surfboard like 45 degree angle with regular alpine boots and bindings.

I've tried a bike with bio-ace and I could feel it when I pedaled
I have a 28T absolute black on my yeti and i couldn't really feel it

Two of my commuter bikes are 1987 ish rigid mtn bikes with biopace front rings. Doesn't seem to bother me, I notice it a tiny bit if coming from a round chainring bike, but not if I've been on the biopace rings recently.
