Weed is legal here though. Actually in BC it always has been, in a sense.

There's also the ones not on the map that would need changes like Purple Haze. I suggest we just move to a numbering (we will skip #69 though) and letter system.

I flipped through the guide book and trail map. Run names are actually pretty woke-proof.

It’s a good thing Whis didn’t solicit Chaz from Cove Bikes to name runs back in the day.

You have too much embedded pasty white guy privilege to make such an assessment. WB needs to hire some critical legal theorist to assess the intersectionality of its names

I mean sure, we know what people are currently offended by, but what will they be offended by in the future??!! We should probably strike a working group and hold visioning sessions to work through the possible scenarios to head off any offence that could rear it's head in the future.

Vail should get ahead of the curve and rate every run as a black square.

How long until the other t-bar meets the same fate? The entire Blackcomb glacier?
Was there any forecasting of the glacier ice melt in the past?

I wonder what their timelines were (the science involved) and if this happened sooner or later than they might have expected 20 or 30 years ago.
Also, does a glacier shrink at a linear rate or is it exponential/parabolic?
Heat of fusion means that it takes a lot more energy to turn ice into water than to warm the ice or warm the water.
So ... viewing the glacier as a huge ice cube, wouldn't the core warm up linearly, and then melt quickly?
Surely there is a forecast for this now.
**NOT A CLIMATE DEBATE. JUST CURIOUS HOW THIS HAS BEEN ANTICIPATED BY MANAGEMENT.

Well, they tried blowing snow up there for a bunch of years, and eventually brought up a digger to try to move snow around. So I'd say they didn't plan at all.

My question is why can't they quickly put another lift in there? Does the glacier pose a problem (I don't think so)? Is the lack of space around Horstman hut an issue?

Just slap in a double chair and call it a day.
