    Whistler 2019 - 2020

Dave and the boys at Gravity Logic built Snowmass four new trails late last summer.
They were so sweet, before they opened the lifts this year.

There's some English accents there. We've got lots who Brexited or are doing gap years.

    Today

Management. I wish to lodge another complaint. The alpine still has too much snow, you've placed new dirt over all my favourite bomb holes, the trailwork has set too high a standard and there are entirely too many people wearing masks.

At least you left all the best drops to flat

Got an email about the refund I was supposed to get on my credit card from WB.

Too bad I charged a bunch of stuff to that card earlier thinking the credit would pay it off.

Hoping the gubermint has a payment I can apply for to help tide me over.

    “ Hi Eldo,

We deeply value the loyalty you have placed with us by choosing to purchase a pass for the upcoming 2020.21 season. In a previous email, we communicated that pass holders who had already paid for their 2020.21 passes would receive their 2019.20 credit via refund at the end of June. Unfortunately, due to unforeseen processing issues, those refunds will now occur in August. We sincerely thank you for your patience.

We will email you in August with information on the Pass Holder Credit Terms and Conditions. Once you have read and accepted the terms, we will promptly issue your refund to the payment method currently on file in your account.

Again, thank you for your loyalty. We are excited for the upcoming season and hope to see you on the mountain! And most importantly, we hope you and your loved ones are healthy and safe.

    Kind Regards,
    Your Whistler Blackcomb Team”

Processing issues, IE we aren’t going to pay you back until August when we charge all the early purchasers the balance on their passes.

RIDICULOUSLY good trailwork by the Whistler Mountain Bike Park trail crew. Berms are so fast riders are literally almost high siding all the tops of berms.Name: 20200708_132043.jpeg

that'll at least give some of the adjacent non park trails a bit of a breather from most of the lift traffic, I'm not gonna lament that too much, personally.

It'll be interesting to see what happens this winter. Can they afford to run both mountains at full capacity with no americans (if it comes to that, and currently i don't see the border opening).
    Leave one completely closed?
Open up both with alpine on one mountain only?
No alpine at all (doubt it).
Rotate between mountains two days after a pow day - How sick would that be. Whistler for two days, then blackcomb a couple of days after.

With all the doom and gloom talk for next season there could also be dream scenario possibilities.

No American tourists. Vancouver skiers too scared to buy a pass or $150/day passes. WB runs both mountains at full capacity basically for locals only. Then we have a record snow year..

Right. A second wave wipes out the populations of Ontario and Quebec. Trudeau loses his base, the Cons form a majority. Bombardier collapses.

Wasn't Whistler JT's alma matter? Maybe he can donate some of the 900 million he's saved not enriching his family's favorite speaking fee charity to offset the profits Whistler will lose in 2020. We (no pun intended) could all benefit from his generosity! Remember your roots JT, Je me souviens!

Now that Whistler and Squamish have been entered in the Red Bull Epic Political Correctness Throw-down Challenge, can someone please at least tell me what the prize is? If I don't win, can I still get a participation medal? I sure hope they don't start renaming ski runs and bike trails. Motherfuckers!!
