In that case he should have had it attached to the main zipper so that the ticket could whack him in the face down each run.

Jeff with a G gave me shit for lining up with no pass and a Bromley ticket. I managed to overcome the shaming to have a great day.

20 degrees and no wind at the base this am. We got about 1/64" of backside snow. Still snow in my yard but the driveway is clear.

Also, in light of the recent awards the mountain has received, it keeps any complacency that might arise at bay by occasionally showing up with competing mountain's ticket attached to your jacket.

Skinned up early this morning. It was 0.3 degrees but no wind at the base so it was a very comfortable stroll once I got going.

As I got higher (up the mountain) the weather progressively got warmer; it was probably +12 or so at the top. Cool shot of the inversion cloud:

I heard the grooming was pretty rough yesterday, but it was beautiful this morning. I felt very comfortable ripping Medium to Wand to Showoff on my ultralight touring rig (Atomic Backland 95 skis, Backland tech bindings, and Scarpa F1 slippers).

Went back after changing out my gear to ski off the chairlift. With some creative marketing you could say 7 trails today. Fun run of the day was definitely Upper Trick with soft, wet whales and excellent coverage. Skied a run with Rusty Groomer and Bank-mang but no pics. Overall, I would say a solid 6/10.

    S&L tonight at the BLT!

    Time for an update..

It's not great in terms of variety of terrain but the snow quality the past couple of days has been off the charts. Rusty went to Stratton on Monday (people claim they do a nice job with grooming) and said he'd never (ever) go back. The snow at Magic is so much better than Stratton. I would say the same when comparing to Bromley (I was there last Sunday).

So, hats off to DoWork and his hard-working crew and especially to Brownie, the head groomer. I wish we had 30+ trails open but what we have is skiing really well.

    Praying for a right-side-up event Sunday/Monday.

Sounds like the snowmaking efforts and upgrades are paying off

And props to RG for venturing so far from Magic...

So true. Stratton has it's place, but thank Santa/God/Buddah/Yoda, etc. for Magic.

PM Update: Did not ski today. We had thunder sleet at around 3:30pm. No sightings of Jim Cantore tho. The frozen precip has accumulated about 1.5 inches on my deck. Weather Underground still saying 3-5 inches of real snow tonight. Tomorrow could be pretty good if we get that fluff on top of the cream cheese.

Today was a great day. Grabbed the first 3 chairs with RG, Goniff, BH, and a few other regulars. The 2+ inches of whatever fell out of the sky last night changed everything. Skied all natural low-angle trails today and it was a hoot.

    Skiing is fun again.
