    RIP Brad Gobright

Rapped off the end of his rope. Tragic.

    Too soon..

Sounds more like the rope broke.

"We started rapping," Mr Jacobson told the Outside website, using the North American term for abseiling. "I was a bit above him. I was on the left. He was on the right. Then all of a sudden, I felt a pop, and we started dropping."

No, unfortunately, according to Jacobson they were simul rappelling and Gobright went off the end of his rope. That’s when he felt it.

    Awful for everyone. Awful.

    Oh fuck. RIP

“Brad set up the rope for a short rappel and didn’t use the middle point. I tried to pull more rope on Brads side but he said he was fine. We started simul rapping and Brad rapped off his rope.”

Great article about Brad Gobright in Climbing magazine. A true climbing bum the likes of which hardly exists anymore. Damn.
