2019-20 - Oregon - it never snows here and when it does, it sucks

Conditions were sort of harrowing today at MHM. There were some nice little pockets of wind accumulation, and the rest was bulletproof, smooth, refreeze. Visibility was just right for not being able to discern where one ended and the other began. I saw quite a few hurt people out there.

So the game was to pick your way down once or twice, to find and connect the honey pots, and then do a few faster laps of the same. I was expecting some nice deep drifts but the wind blew too hard, I think. Still, there were some really nice, fun routes amid all the treachery.

Precip in the later afternoon was a warming sleet/frozen rain, like needles blasting exposed flesh and freezing to your clothes, then melting, then freezing again. At some point we realized how drenched we were and went in to warm up for a minute, only to realize how really, really drenched we were and call it a day.

Best if people stay home and watch football or take down the Xmas tree and Xmas lights.

Good call puma. Small consistent storms are coming in. Stay safe. Watch out tbs will be gracing the slopes today.

A rare bailout for us today. Combination of factors. Hoping it's good for those that braved the beaterfest.

Running on generators, hrm was closed for an hour this morning. Some smooth snow on choice runs, ice on others. Not bad lines considering the amount of cars and less then full speed generator power?

    More snow please

Found five or six really good turns on every run, but those were sandwiched between glare ice and mostly obscured, refrozen moguls. Add in the hordes of racer kids pinballing down the hill and the 50 mph gusts and it was quite the adventure.

Where it’s blown in it’s really good though.

4" skied like 5. Not bad conditions, seeing how it hasn't really snowed much in the past few weeks.

Outback a bit boney but still delivered some soft turns.

Dumping in Bend. More importantly, it's dumping in the mountains. Nice and light, and getting deeper.
