This is a winning strategy. Wish I could ski those days.

    Iz Gute.

Been skiing easyish stuff for a month and just now starting to ramp up the challenge level. Prolly in the 90% range. A little stiff after skiing but nothing to write home about. My concern for abrupt legjacking from unseen terrain features is beginning to fade. Took my first real digger yesterday and it hurt about 2/10. No biggie but an eye opener.

edit: and I took today off to rest the knee so natch it was a super deep day here. Taking one for the team.

It's all about the wee wee tingling!

Yup, right Achilles. I'm at about 90% now. Alternating days skiing and in weight room. Just now getting to point I'm not babying the repaired side. Yesterday was first with !@#$% heavy GPOs. Legs were toast after three hrs.

Skied Meadows for 8 hours today. Turns were good in the right spots, but watch out for that bulletproof rain crust where the new has been scoured away.

Managed to lose about a foot of sidewall off of my favorite rocks skis. Couldn't figure out why one ski kept washing out while turning...

JB Weld won't replace a sidewall or re-bond those layers... it would break on the first day. Not sure how much you want to invest but those look like nice, hand made PM Gear skis? A $20 pack of West Systems G/Flex should be enough to rebuild that missing sidewall and hopefully you don't mind your new sidewall being purple. Just mix it, fill it in, clamp the ski, scrape off the excess and leave it 24 hours to cure.

Hope it's sticking to stuff out in Northwest and up on Summit! Good turns to you all and stay safe in the deep goodness. I will be there next weekend.

Thanks for the advice. They are indeed PM gear skis, but they aren't nice. More epoxy than original sidewall on the other ski. Will probably just thicken some orange hardman epoxy and slather it on. That has worked pretty well as a filler and binder in the past for me.

Well folks, it’s gonna be really good on Hood tomorrow. Just got back from a little walk-n-ski up Heather and into Newton. The snowcat is filling in the creek crossings as we speak so I suspect heather will open in a few days. The snow was really fkn good, only felt the bottom on a couple turns. Will be bottomless tomorrow.

Let's hope the wind forecast is overbaked. Actually, I hope it's just as bad as it looks so it vets my decision to steer clear of the resort tomorrow. Actually, I hope it's not bad for those of you that are going (but just don't tell me if it's good). Fuck, I need those skins to get here so I can still ski on weekends like this and so you athletic peeps can revel in my skin-track comedy.

Good god. That forecast always overdoes it in my opinion, but still the goods if well on the low end of each of those estimates...

    Safe turns.

My rule of thumb is A=NTMF*0.75
    Where A = Actual snowfall
And NTMF = Minimum forecasted snowfall for next 72 hrs

Forecast from this morning (0600) was for minimum 61" during same period. So 15% drop in minimum forecasted snowfall over 10 hrs

The real test is if my dad breaks out the goggles. Pretty adamant about skiing while it's snowing in sunglasses. approaching 80 so we will see if he's getting soft.
