    Oh shit, the Hodag?

We had plenty of snow up at Timberline. Some fools were even getting their cars buried in the parking lot this morning.

Lol... the struggle is real. Webcams showing main lot is almost full already and traffic is backed up on the access road.

Yep, deep 2nd row at 645am today makes this the busiest day of the year so far. Seems like there's been a big preference shift among the beater masses that favors sun and calm wind over new snow.

2019-20 - Oregon - it never snows here and when it does, it sucks

By Central Oregon standards, itís already a Hoo-Zoo down here too!

(But empty by Meadows standards, not complaining)

HRM traffic was backed up past teacup lake @ 930 so I pulled an audible and hit up pocket creek. 1 hour of Type 2 fun and mega schwacking led to a nice lunch break, stellar views, and high quality wind transported pow. Damn, was it annoying getting there. Worth it, sometimes, maybe?

Glad you were able to use it too! I must have been up Newton when you guys rolled through. I was surprised to not see anyone, given how crowded the resort seemed and how nice the snow was.

Nice to be able to see where I was going today. Nice soft snow where it wasn't wind scoured - like on ridgetops. Variable depth and density otherwise.

Lines got to be a little long about 1000, but they cleared in 10-15 minutes

During one such wait, I got to listen to some guy rant about how MtB management was criminally stupid because it couldn't get Summit and NWX open today. "I paid $100 for a ticket, the whole mountain should be open! They should have been working on everything last night" I bit my tongue remembering my grandpa's words "You'll never win a fartin contest with a horse's ass."

Next time around, I was chatting with a random skier riding a pair of Kartels.
After a couple of minutes he asks "Are you TBS?"
    "Uh yea...how did you know?"
"From your (FRS Antero II) jacket"

I need to talk to MiCol about some sort of spokesmodel fee. As I've said, that jacket repels everything but women.

Nice to meet you Bryan! Did you get to Outback? How was it?

Good to see you too Poacher. Looks like you had a fun crew with you today.

Looks like a good day tomorrow as well, but with fewer people. Anybody besides Jonesy and me headed up?

    ^^^

Got to pay bills and work for a living.

Dude, didn't even ask for change? How presumptive.

I rolled up as the full moon was setting. Pretty damn impressive.

Did a couple cone laps for the cardio. Good for the soul and what not...

Bummer for those that paid window prices and didn't get the Summit.

Good to meet you as well. Outback was more wind/ice affected than Cloud, but no lines. Found some fun skiing skier's right of Ed's Garden behind the cone. Skied until last chair back there.

^^^oh shit, sorry for getting the name wrong. Too many concerts in my younger daze...
I think I remember you having wrens in Skjersaas for a mount a couple of years ago when I had GPOs in for same thing.

Don’t know if you’ve seen the grizzlycorn Kartels around the ranch.

Sunday got better as the day progressed. Tracked out pow from previous day that had sketchy crust in the morning softened nicely by afternoon into chalky goodness.

NOAA model showing another form of goodness next weekend. Too soon to bank on it, but promising at least. A few of these mini-storms moving through:

Went to Timberline today because a buddy had $25 Black Friday tickets. The sky was bluebird, the groom was set up perfectly and damn, I had forgotten how flat it is there when they don't open Palmer or the Mile. Oh well, the sun was out and it was better than going to work.

Didn't look like they were even trying to open the Mile, let alone Palmer, I guess they're holding out for the weekend (or maybe spring for Palmer).

Sever ice storm at bachelor. Chunks of cocktail ice shedding from the trees. Falling then rolling out on the runs. It would ruin your day.
