2019-20 - Oregon - it never snows here and when it does, it sucks

Pins coming out in a few hours under local anesthetic, wild shit. Hand looks like a zombie under that cast, and this pic is after I washed it

Yea, it’s amazing how much skin gets replaced in a few weeks.
Did they let you keep the pins?
    No pics of the talent?

Be interested to hear additional feedback on Cottage Grove. Thanks HD

Median price is higher than Eugene...

Also-> keep in mind that Lane County is extremely anti growth and has extremely strict land use laws. Buildable land is becoming rare.

Mt Bachelor announced yesterday they will provide a credit voucher for future use if it closes for more than 7 consecutive days, or 30 days total, during the 20/21 winter season due to Covfefe.

Seems reasonable under the circumstances. I guess the only question is whether they limit capacity through a reservation system so much that it's functionally impossible to get out.

I was wondering what was going on with Bachy. I haven't seen any emails from them lately. When's the last day to pull the trigger on a 12 day pass with the early season pricing? I still have a few days left on last years, so I guess I should look into it...

Pulled trigger on a 12 day pass with 20% off voucher. Hopefully will get to use it this season. And, I will be holding my breath....

Sunset from Timberline Lodge on Saturday. Looks like they're running camps - there were lots of kids in Govy, many of them without masks...

500 acre fire in Mosier, evacuations ordered for part of town. If anybody has friends or family that are affected and need a place to stay, we have a spare bedroom (or can offer up our garage + air mattresses to be covid compliant). Fenced in yard for dogs. Sounds like Shilo Inn in The Dalles is also providing shelter.

Just shy of 1000 acres as of this morning. 10% containment.

East winds 5-10 over the next few days should help the effort, but are going to smoke out Hood River and parts west.

The ODF camp at the dalles wahtonka school is something to see. Small encampment pods spread all over the place. Firefighting in the time of covid...

The smoke had already made its way down here to Eugene yesterday afternoon. It’s still getting blown in today.

I live in Mosier and the Level 3 evac zone for this fire literally ended like 50 yards from my house (junction of State and Mosier Creek roads). Was like a war zone for a couple of days there with tankers and helicopters flying super low over my house. Crazy.

Glad to hear you are safe.

Baker came out with some thoughts on this winter. I sure hope turns can be had this year...Might be time to finally take the plunge into backcountry access.

Not a pass holder there, but that’s about what all we can ask for

I agree. About all we can ask for at this point, and I love the transparency by Baker mgmt.

    Nice fortree.

I believe I am going to invest in an AT setup. I have been on the fence for a long time. I now have a contact who has been doing a bunch over the years in this new area I am in, he is very conservative in his approach, I need the exercise, I will live 25 minutes from the pass come springtime, and do not think covid's going to be kind for lift-served on epic days for me.
