I dunno, everyone should probably wait to ski until those few cold days in Feb, otherwise it might not be worth it. I heard there's still rocks out there.

Oh I'll fuckin be there regardless. And I'll be skiing regardless. Gear test days are great. Just don't want anyone laboring under misapprehension of "pow ." Also, it's a well known fact that talking up a forecast typically brings opposite results due to the "online forum predictive jinx principle" (a real scientific thing I've studied over the years watching financial market movement with a bunch of clients in an online chat. Ok, well not scientific, but I try not to fuck around with jinxing interest rates or pow).

Pow is to be shredded and reveled in--not verbally anticipated. Talk about rain all ya want. The more we talk about how certain it is, the less we'll get. This is advanced internet reverse psychology jinxery. I know it's a lot to take in. And I know it's a departure from some of TGR's primitive flat-earth superstitions.

    I have spoken.

The proper term is "uncrystalized" or "partially crystalized" snow

Just wrapped up first night skiing session of the year. Good conditions - cold temps, about 2” fell from 5-730. Snowing down past Parkdale right now.

You’re not going nuts. They are just severely challenged by website management over there. I posted that so I could have a place where all four links are easily accessible.

Thinking of making my own meadows website that provides easy access to all the shit I use on there.

i had this conversation with a buddy the other day -- i went back & found it in my texts
i can't imagine someone is taking the time to change it periodically
but seems an odd thing to oscillate on/off by itself...

They probably just got the dynamohyperlinkers crisscrossed. More noticeable when its snowing. Not sure why.

All you can eat buffet of base building cream cheese from 9am-2pm @ 5600 ft today. Fed the Goats. Lots of refills. You’ll notice a theme in these pictures, I believe. Kinda shocked I pulled out the camera so much today - it was good. Really good.

Great, I usually get there about 0815 and am probably the 20th vehicle in the lot, Subie or otherwise.

Wonder how big a Yeti cooler you get with the BM?

And with all that, Thursday looks to be better conditions...
I hope you made it up today. If tomorrow, best of luck with the festivities!

I look forward to Sunday! (Maybe Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday too!) As is always the case, praying for not too warm, and praying for a little more than forecast when it does get cold. I am expecting dust on crust, and will be happy with that!

Lol, the forecast (from this afternoon) for tonight over the pass was up to a quarter inch of rain to 6700’! That’s the top of the resort!

That would basically wash the snow off the bottom of the resort and turn the upper mountain into a skating rink. I don’t think 2-4 inches of snow on top of that would ski very well ...

    Its Pissing at Meadows

Left MHM about 10pm and it was raining cats and dogs. Snow was skiing great in the A.M but by 2pm was getting wet. Forecast looks grim for the next day or two at least...

Yes, extra base building, me thinks.

The upside is that there's a cooling trend for next week with chances of more snow. So that's good? (Trying to be positive...)

Oh, it will be epic. I'll be out of town, so it has to be good. You're welcome.
