My dad lived in Victorville. Spent many days at mountain high and holiday hill. This sucks

Gutted.

I learned to ski at Holiday Hill (now Mt High East). Spent lots of time on those trails. Taught my oldest daughter how to ski there, too.

My sister lives in Victorville and photos from her place look apocalyptic. Must be even worse for Wrightwood and surrounding areas.

Feel so bad for those affected.

So far, Baldy Village is largely okay. Looked real real bad from downcanyon last night. Some structures lost, think I saw 6.

Wrightwood may be a different story.

Largely? I wasn’t aware the fire was that near it? I need to look at a better fire map, I can’t fathom the fire in wrightwood and baldy village simultaneously and the baldy lifts being ok

Thank you to all the employees and fire fighters for their hard work. Our hearts go out to the Wrightwood families that may be suffering. We are with you!

Looks like it is starting up the slope on Mt. Baden Powell, my go to backcountry spot. Sure hope the very old trees survive.

Heartbreaking. I’ve spent so much time in those mountains, SART traverse, Bridge to nowhere, Baldy hiking running and skiing, Baden Powell and everything along the 2. It’s forever changed because of the fire.
