Kingpin Toe Issues?

Mounting up a pair of Kingpins and wondering if this is an issue or just the way they are designed. When I step the toe of my boot into the toe piece of the binding and rock it forward as if in tour mode the binding hits the toe of the boot, limiting rotation. The two “guides” that show you where to put the boot front actually hit and dent the boot sole. Anyone seen this, and how to fix it? Grind it down a bit? Thanks!
