Is there any risk to a tech jong opening up a tv?

I got a used commercial grade tv last summer for outdoor patio use. Chanced it and left it out over winter. In the spring when I tested it it was working fine, but now won't power on. I've read that this model has three fuses inside I can check (that's about the limit of my trouble shooting skills here) so I'd like to check those before moving on.

IIRC old tube tv's have capacitors that can shock you, just curious if modern flat screen tv's carry any risk.

There might be some really small capacitors in there, but there really is no risk. It's all really low voltage/low capacitance capacitors.

I'm mostly a tech Jong but I opened up one of our newer flat screens and was able to fix an issue that mostly involved a design flaw that crimped a ribbon cable(?) and it was super simple.

Also just as a random data point I have been using a regular flat-screen as an outside TV for 3 years and haven't had any issues except I don't use it if it's colder than -10F. I also planned on just throwing a blanket over it for super cold snaps( we've had multiple weeks around -20 to -30F) but never did. It is under a covered patio but not closed in. I'm in MT and figured I already had the TV so why not.

same on outside tv under covered porch.

they are disposible. the ones that are specially designed for outdoor use are stupid expensive. I will cycle through cheap ones from FB marketplace.

Love the patio tv. Baseball or grand cycling tours on a hot summer afternoon or evening on the patio is quite a vibe. Haven't done a movie night yet but I'm sure that's pretty sublime as well.
