Stephan has problems with Goode, has his own intentions and begins DPS. Using groundbreaking designs and innovative materials to create a different type of on-snow powder experience that takes powder skiing to a whole new level.
Initially, DPS has success with the 138, 120 and 105.
He continues to push the envelope with incredible marketing and with the 112rp, but has a problem with chinese manufacturers. He wants to grow his company, move manufacturing to the USA and has no choice but to get in bed with gaper big $$$ investors who want to grow the company by introducing many new models/lay-ups. This causes the quality of the product and reputation of the company to decline, thus playing a roll in valuable employees fleeing. Stephan has a problem losing total control of his company that would have not existed without his expertise.
FF to 2021: Stephan introduces a new company that specializes in grass roots pow boards that maggots are drooling over.

    ....Personally, I can't wait.

This is how I see it.

Curious to see if this will actually lead to a brand name change. Though if he leaves and they change the name, how much would they have to change to be a different company

Sure the S7, Lhasa Pow and 112rp were very similar in a lot of ways. They did have different lay-ups which made all three unique.
Btw, SD copying, or being copied is nothing new and has been going on since at least 2005: https://www.tetongravity.com/forums/...p/t-39426.html

I particularly like the last two posts that seem to call Pat Keane out for not posting when he was an active poster in the thread.

I understand buddy was a rossi/ DPS dealer at the time and so the S6 and S7 had just come out

but the 112 was a L120 tip/tail combined with the Cassiar 85 under foot

I'm sure the guy who invented the Titanium hammer was also influenced by the tendonitis from using an Estwing but its still a different/better hammer

the 112's with the shinny tops were not drab and when you picked them up you got really exclusive/ really expensive slivers

I shot my buddy a DPS link , he became a dealer, bought 16pairs, he later told me in 15 yrs of flogging gear that was his biggest selling outdoor product eva

    Cmon SFB, make me whole!

I'd trade either a pair of 185 T2 w105's or one of my blue pairs of L120's to mate my single F3.
