Agreed. This cartoon still had Lucas guiding it. It’s better than most of the stuff Disney has shat out.

So are we ready to talk about episode 3 yet? Because I'm in. PTSD Kenobi is the best Kenobi. He's broken and I love it.

    Mandalorian

    It was fuckin awesome!

Adult convo in the house is whether they’ll show something realistic that bounces him out of ptsd. I think it’ll magically be “the force.”

Other convo is speculating what other canon characters are going to step into the show.

    Saw this on Twitter:
“Ok, how are they going to explain Leia having such a past with Obi Wan when in A New Hope she says “years ago you served my Father in the Clone wars.....” she could have just said “hey Ben! Remember when you saved my life a bunch of times on Mapuzo?! I need your help ASAP!””

Clone Wars series was worth the grind. Finished he whole 50ish hours with my son during early part of COVID when he was doing virtual, morning routine was ~2 episodes w/ coffee before school. Does really help define relationship between Obi Wan and Anakin, plus more about Padme! Also love Rebels.

Obi Wan so far has delivered and I'm not one to dive into plot holes, but the Inquisitor dying (at least implied by lack of any mention in Episode 3) is directly contradictory to Rebels plot-line. Will keep watching and my 10 y/o is still absolutely terrified of Darth Vader, not too many villians get that type of treatment of just the breathing being terrifying. Rebels does a great job at showing how terrifying he really is as well, all with very little screen time.

You haven't been paying attention; Sith pretty much operate on zombie rules. Maul was cut in half and fell down a shaft and was fine. Anakin lost three limbs and spontaneously caught on fire and was back within a week. Palpatine got fried by with own force lighting (twice) and pulled through. Dooku was beheaded, and that's what it takes.

That's said, there was a very brief mention in Ep 3, where Reva mentions to the other Inquisitors that Kenobi took out the GI before he escaped. Story makes sense, Kenobi is known as a lightsaber wielding badass and taking out the GI is a plausible story. But we haven't seen the body and the fact that Reva has to tell this to the other inquisitors means they haven't seen the body either. I'm assuming he played dead and limped off, going along with the 'he's dead' narrative, and waiting for the moment to get revenge on Reva for this betrayal. It's the most Sith thing to do.

I'm highly entertained so far. But I'm easy to please, I even liked Book of Boba.

The scene with Vader just randomly fucking up people in the street did a great job of reinforcing that terrifying villain thing.

Apparently, Disney/Star Wars people are saying that kenobi is staying within canon, which includes rebels, some comics, and some novels.

There’s a partial trailer online that is supposedly for the Mandorlian S3 and supposedly from the fancy convention thing last week that seems to show an aged grand inquisitor. Also, my take is that Vader had his cleaner collect the GI for a refresh/reboot and didn’t tell the inquisitors because it allows him extra manipulative leverage.

From the outside I can rationalize the return of the GI because it's Rupert Friend - to big a name to toss away frivolously. May the celebrity force be with you.

Obibwan. Im not convinced. Let's see whether they can turn this around from meh to cool.

And I'm easily Entertained. I mean I suffered the vespa Gang in boba fett and still thought it to be alright.

And Personal PET peeve: why can't the Leia actress run? Don't Hollywood kids play outside as well? My 5 year old is faster than that.... why how do they want to save Canon when they meet in Episode 4? She doesn't say "Hey obi wan remember those adventures we had back in the day"?

Edit: I read some of the issues have been addressed.

I'm really enjoying the show despite some of the discrepancies with other canon material especially with Vader. Looking forward to the last two episodes. Hoping for a big showdown between Obi-wan and Vader again.

    Winner winner chicken dinner!

I think episode 6 has written itself at this point, Leia & Kenobi return to Alderaan and drops her off with mom because Bale isn't there. Leia promises to only to run on treadmills inside from now on. Kenobi returns to Tattooine while Reva goes to search for the child mentioned in the message she found. Reva finds Sen Organa on Tattoine and makes the connection with Luke and Annie. Kenobi confronts Reva before she can message Vader and Kenobi kills Reva. Kenobi returns to his day job as a meat packer carving up some sand monster. End credits.

See , THIS is the kind of humor that these series need.
    Maybe a little more subtle.

    Maybe not.
