Crio Bru - roasted cacao
Anyone drinking this? Seems like a good alternative for an afternoon brew instead of tea or coffee since it has very little caffeine and you know....chocolate!

There was a bag in my office that I tried. It was tasty, but it was a spicy flavor. Too spicy for my taste, I thought it overpowered the chocolate. I bet a plain chocolate flavor would be good, and a decent late afternoon coffee alternative.
Remind me. We'll send him a red cap and a Speedo.

Strikes me as an overpriced hipster version of non-dutch process cocoa powder, which is itself even healthier since you consume the whole plant rather than just the water soluble fraction. An analog is brewed leaf tea vs matcha tea; a cup of matcha has 10x the ECGC and other antioxidants than the brewed leaf tea.

Same thing for half the price: https://www.amazon.com/Organic-Pound...grocery&sr=1-4
To brew it you'll have to grind them finer, but I assume you already own a coffee grinder.

I’m curious if roasting some cacao nibs in the oven will give me a similar end product. I have the nibs already for brewing beer so I might give it a go once my move is finalized and shit settles down.

Coca nibs. Now those I would try.
