Finally got almost 2 meters in the pyrenees.
Last night went for my first ever night couloir skiing by headlamp.
First, skinning in a complete whiteout, hoping that it would be clear higher up.
After an hour of braille skinning, finally above the fog.
Looking back and wondering how the skiing will be in the soup, once we ski the couloir.
And my phone decided that 10 degrees Fahrenheit is just too cold to work.
We got to the top by headlamp, quick transition, frozen hands.
Sidestepped the first 20 feet to avoid the rocks lurking under the powder.
Then, pretty good skiing in the first part of the couloir, west facing, so a bit crusty.
Then, the couloir turned north, and boot top powder. After the apron, kept worrying about the fog, but, miracle, it was clear all the way to the car. 3700 ft. I guess the lowering temperature took care of the fog
The entire 3 1/2 hours, no water, no food. My sandwich frozen solid.

Great powder in this n facing couloir, 10 days after the last storm and in the resort, bareges. Couloir is visible from a chairlift. Not complaining, but almost everywhere else it would be tracked in half a day.

Skied this north facing couloir today, wind crust on top of 30 cm of pure sugar, on top of an ice crust.
Ok now, but dangerous with new snow.
Skied really well, considering it's been 3 weeks since the last snow.
More North facing couloirs soon.
