WTB: Tech Bindings (Kingpin, Shift, Tecton)

Boots and skis have been checked off the list, now just need a pair of tech bindings for them. I’m a Clydesdale, and they are big boots and skis so looking primarily for above bindings. Let me know if you have anything to sell!

The large brake size. I think 105mm and up. I do have skinnies laying around tho.

Struggling to connect with the owner of the shifts (it was the person selling them on Craigslist). Thought it was a done deal, now I’m not sure. Question I have is looking at a din calculator I come up with 8.5. Am I too heavy for the kingpin 10s if I add in a pack or other assorted gear?

Understand that-just a general question. I’ve been on tele gear for the last 20 years so looking for some insight on if I need din 10 or 13 bindings.

Hey. I bought the 10’s and had the 13’s that were gold a few seasons ago. I didn’t / haven’t skied either one so don’t have any real world answer for that. But if you would normally ski a DIN setting (something you probably don’t know because you tele) close to 10 the argument is that you may be maxing out the binding springs over the long term.

Your DIN setting would be a function a few factors including your weight, level of skiing (more advanced skier would put more stress on binding and would increase DIN #) and maybe age?

I’m not a binding tech so I’ll let other people more informed discuss.

But as some examples:

Lighter ( 160 #’s) less aggressive skier may have a DIN of 8/9.

Heavier (200#’s) aggressive skier may have a DIN of 10+

Good feedback. Used to be a shop tech so have some experience with this, just not the new tech bindings. I’m heavy, tall, and have a fairly big boot, so have a higher din. Basically trying to find out if that small din gap between 8.5 and 10 will be an issue or not. Thanks!
