Two bags free, too! I flew Southwest from BWI to SLC in February, and had two big bags, one with two pair of skis, which was over. They blew that weight off going out (thanks, dude!), and charged me 70 coming back, so, 70 for two big bags RT these days? Cool.

Definitely pay the extra fee to get you into the A boarding group. Not much, if I remember, and much better seat choice, although, for the next few months, that may mean your own row.
