I have seen this on a few buddies skis as well. With rounded tails your dropping ten plus pounds on a very small area.

Unrelated: back bowls of Vail today, looks like where you have to go to get back from Blue Sky Basin...one way out.

They will be loading chairs till 7 PM...and then they still have to get down the front side.

Are you sure that’s not the end of the line from the front side of the mountain?

Skied Targhee today. Lots of windbuff. Fun when you could see. No lines at all.

    My lift line today...

I'll echo the strong wind slab comments. Glad to see that WYDOT opened the parking lots. I can see their point in keeping them closed as to be nimble when the conditions deteriorate, especially if the shit is hitting the fan in both the Hoback and Snake River Canyon. I guess "we" blew our chances to not trigger slides onto the road in High conditions. But you'd think that ITD might have plowed Stateline yesterday in anticipation of a crowd. Ah well, so much for thinking, I'll just go skiing. It's worked for 38 years now...haha.

Edited to try and rotate the photo. How do you do that?

OB east facing was getting heavy as the day went on, but it still skied pretty darn well, I had no complaints.

Went back, did it again, first 4 laps were crazy good. So much wind buff, they should remove Sublette lift!
Truth be told, each lap at the tram was 5 cars, about 62-68 minutes skis off to skis on. I got 5 comfortably.

But oh the reward! So pissed after the wait, and then 8 minutes of mach looney bliss! Why not do that again?
So crazy that yesterday was super blower down low and today was full nature's groomer top to bottom.

An hour for heli laps you already know and don't need any guidance on is pretty good.

Wind backed off and temps dropped end of day, so skiing on lap 5 was more typical inbounds- BUMPY

Tomorrow is cold and clear so many young bucks will go to Cody.
The market is dominated by fat skis largely because young toughs want what they see in videos: organ donors hucking into heliski bowls. -Seth Masia

Today: creamy turns off AV first thing in the morning, farming tree pow in Teton when AV was on hold. Kept moving along, stashes on Casper then a three box wait. Wind for the win! Definitely deep turns down the bowl all day and even later during the day got soft Hobacks turns all the way down. Stoke level high today all over the mountain despite the various holds.

Had a blast adding to your crowds for three days. Nailed the storm . Freaky Friday delivered some really epic runs including my first Untracked turns in the hobacks ever. Spent mode of the last two days trying run from the crowds which was basically impossible . Love the tram experience and southcable too. I just kept thinking it would have been great to know the best ways to execute on pow day there. Been there enough to know some good spots but it’s a big Mtn and I got frustrated that I couldn’t get that many runs in! special place that Mtn and the hole experience . I’ll be back no doubt ikon or not ...

Going for a last tram. Lines are still so fresh outside that we are going to ski the village again tomorrow.

Looking to see whether there is a ticket voucher for my skiing partner. I'm good but he has a need.

Amazing bluebird day at the 'Ghee today, dont get a lot of sun around here. Lucky enough to help put the booter up Marys after being closed since last Wednesday, what a bitch that was, swimming in waist deep snow but oh was it worth it. Click image for larger version.

thank you for setting that boot pack. I saw you guys going up- that was a deep one.
we went up at maybe 10amish and I had to cross a track or two but it was still worth it. That was actually my 1st time up Mary's too. I usually ski the ghee early season when it's not opened yet so this was a treat
    beautiful day out there

Coming down to visit my son who's a student at BYUi at the end of the month. He's got a Targhee pass but looking for any deals for me and my other two boys. Are there any 2 for 1s floating around this year?
