Hard to follow "poon tang," but hey, here goes.

3" of graupel on snow surface in the Do-its. Blowing sideways. Word from the WYDOT avalanche guy is that pass might be closed on Sunday, expecting 1" of SWE in 10 hours, so heads up.

Ski guided today for the first time in ages. Different from teaching avalanche classes. Boy, some people can say some stupid shit. But at least they can ski.

I just got out of a bootfitting sesh with skiing-in-Jackson. Hope to be better suited here asap.
It was flat nuking from about 3-7 pm at the vill. The squall puked 5-8 inches at 3 spots on the upper mountain in 3-4 hours. Hopefully those bands continue through the night.
It gusted to 75 mph at the summit at 1:15 today. Talk about a whiteout.

Tomorrow is gonna be interesting for weather, snow and crowds. The chess match begins on where to ascend from... Leeward slopes will be deeeeeep methinks.

Likely shooting for first box, ski ya there. Dress warm if it's howling.
    Ask for change.

TFT and the Mrs. - Give me a shout anytime you wanna connect. You know where I am. Let's us 3 ski more this time. Hope to ski ya soon.

Skeeze - Thanks for the compliments; 'Twas a pleasure to meet ya and hopefully we can get a few more turns before you bolt. I knew today would be a good one for you. Fixin' to get better.

    Djongo - Super Stoked!

My plan was to leave Sunday early.
Odds of Highway 26 still being open on Sunday afternoon/early evening?

Sounds like it might be safest to leave Saturday.

    Agreed!

I'm skiing JH 2/17-2/21, but I want to make sure I can get up there (and don't miss Monday).
Car and tires are good, but need roads to be open.

Only a short drive N of the village, didn’t see another person all day and got face shots galore to start of the week! Lots of shots of mrs tft all smiles and finding the deepness.

Some more stoke. Middle-riser-friendly skin tracks and long consistent pow shots aren't anything to complain about.

Also, Pass Gas makes driving to ski the dark side exponentially better.

In honor of Little Big Lost, I took my kids to Kelly Canyon to take advantage of the B1G1 they had on Valentines day. Kids had a blast and I loved seeing all the Mormon farm kids up having a blast gaping around. I love small town hills like KC. LBL said I was the only Mag he'd ever had say hello at the ticket window.

Took a look at the village web cams a couple times while driving up this am and it looked pretty quiet. Might actually end up there on Monday.

Thanks for the offer! We are heading out in the park again today then likely mobbing the lifts with our ikon passes tomorrow. Down to meet up with anybody who wants to make turns, and hoping to ski with the usual suspects a few times this week...

Heads up - Teton pass closes today at noon for Avy control.

Blowing 30-45 mph up high, 8" of fresh on top of yesterdays 10".

    Mind the Slabbage.

With the pass closing at noon it was 2 deep at the Idaho/Wyoming stateline parking lot, dont think I’ve ever seen that before. While loading up to head home watched some out of stater with Wisconsin plates haul ass right up to the closed gate and take out about half of it, guess he didn’t see all the flashing road closed signs in time.

Another very deep and enjoyable day out there. Still snowing hard when we left the stateline lot around 4.
