    Overrated ski areas

no question North Face, Headwall and Max's are outstanding on a deep day.
other than that, Alyeska is all hype: intermediate cruisers and short drops.
getting to the day lodge is a cat road shitshow.
    YMMV

While I do enjoy skiing there, and would go again in a second, Grand Targhee deserves a spot on this list.

My pick, off the top of my head, is Steamboat.

On reflection I think this is overly negative, particularly when compared with Chamonix... Full of French people and very low penetration of MAGA hats! Truly the worst of all evils...

I had a pretty good time at Jackson. The tram went a little high for my liking, but I just took some rests on the way down.

    Although every day isn't a "10", I've enjoyed every resort I've visited.

Snowbird. All the snow blows to Alta. Alta is higher in elevation, has better terrain, and no f'in snowboarders to wreck the bump runs.

I'm going to say Whitefish, only because Ski magazine just rated it #3 best area in North America, which is completely insane.

I tend to under rate ski areas as a defense mechanism. Or maybe I'm a glass half empty kind of person...?

Jackson groomers are way overrated, and packed with rich people from Boston and their asshole kids taking ski lessons.... the backcountry laps are amazing and I will always treasure my times there.

Thought Copper was underwhelming. Especially after visiting Big Sky the same year, both for the first time.

    Actual people ski at Copper?
I thought it was just Texans in starter jackets, as far as the eye can see.

Yee-haws and groomers is what Copper is all about.
