I love skiing drops, cliffs, minigolf on alpine binders, but just can't feel it on pins. Want to do more of that on my pow rig. Also want to be able to put in 5-8k days for fun on the pow skis without being spent....My approach is to go with an alpine heel pin binder like tecton and get in better shape rather than bitch about 200g underfoot. Sound about right?

    As for the sticks?
C'mon now .. depends on conditions, route :-)

Or do we only get to choose one?

What would your touring setup consist of?

If I have to pick one boot... Atomic Hawx 130 XTD

I’m not picking one ski and binding. Winter is too different from spring and summer for me.

    Spring/Summer:
184cm Faction Prime 2.0 and BD Helio 110s with custom high riser and Pomoca Climb Pro skins

Colorado Winter (lots of easy-access sidecountry):
Vipecs on 186cm Kusala Pow (extra stiff pure carbons) and Pomoca Free Pro skins

Euro Winter (more skinning than in CO):
Vipecs on 190cm DPS Lotus 120 Pures and Pomoca Free Pro skins

Vipecs because cliffs and other aggressiveness. Otherwise I’d go with ATK Trofeo 10s with custom high risers.

    Custom high risers:

TLDR; Ski faster. Quit breathing. Don't crash.

Oh please, you can absolutely have one setup to do it all. It might be nice to have a quiver of touring options, but it is in no way, shape or form necessary.

    Signed,

The guy who skis the same exact touring setup on hut trips, after work laps at Hyak, and on volcanoes in the spring/summer.

    Boot: La Sportiva Spectre 2.0
    Binding: G3 Ion
Ski: 182 Praxis Skinny Quixote (108 underfoot)
    Skins: BD Ascension Nylon

Yeah, sure, and in theory you can walk around Green Lake, climb Mt. Rainier and jog the Half Ass at West Tiger Mountain in bowling shoes.

I need to go to Utah.
    Utah?
Yeah, Utah. It's wedged in between Wyoming and Nevada. You've seen pictures of it, right?

So after 15 years we finally made it to Utah.....

Thanks BCSAR and POWMOW Ski Patrol for rescues

DIY. Modeled after splitboard risers. Ti rod from Amazon with a bench vise and a butane torch. Hacksaw, dremel tool and a cutting board from Walmart. Gonna try 3d printing sometime in the future.
