Bend, Oregon Italian restaurant recommendations ?
Heading over for the weekend and looking for a few yummy places to get grub. Any local recommendations ? Don't care about ambiance much but not too interested in carts, just want tasty food indoors.

Heh, four choices for Italian in Bend
- Pastini http://www.pastini.com which is OK
- Trattoria Sbandati http://trattoriasbandati.com/ - haven't been there
- Chains like Olive Garden
- Pizza
Couple of other places to consider
Barrio - tapas and tacos
Jackalope Grill - bring your wallet, it ain't cheap
Zydeco Kitchen - PNW/NOLA fusion

Thanks TBS ! I'll stay away from Pastini and any sort of Olive Garden, I'll take a look at Barrio and Zydeco. Any local hole in the wall places that makes your belly say FKNA while your scarffing down the food ? We usually get a meal at Jackson's Corner when we're in Bend but wanted to try something different.

Wild Rose Northern Thai.
It’s not Italian - you won’t care.

It's been years but I remember the Italian joint in Sunriver being good.

I hit Bend up every year for my end of season trip for the past 11 yrs and have two trips booked this year - my absolute favorite is Brother John's across the street from 10 Barrel... Great tap selection and food and portions are huge... Never ever disappoints...
If there is interest in breakfast than Victorian Cafe should def be on your radar screen...

If you do breakfast hit up McKay Cottage http://www.themckaycottage.com/. Reservations needed
For indoor consumption of tacos and wraps try Parilla Grill
Brother Jon’s is good. Wild Rose is good
Pub grub at 10(million) barrel on east side is good too. West side store is tough to get seated

Zydeco is definitely worth it. Best to make reservations.
Bend is not an Italian food mecca.
But there are some decent pizza joints. Bend Pizza Kitchen in NW Crossings is good.
Hole in the walls. Hit up the food trucks right off Galveston. Grab a pint of beer. Bring your pooch if you have one in tow.
2nd McKay's Cottage for breakfast . Try the cinnamon rolls.
Victorian Café also popular joint for breakfast."We don't beat the reaper by living longer, we beat the reaper by living well and living fully." - Randy Pausch

I used to love the Pine Tavern as a kid.
Best cheap breakfast was the Juniper Cafe (RIP)

South Bend Bistro...it's closer to SunRiver than Bend, but excellent food when I was there last year.
