In the "it's so crowded no one goes there anymore" vein: Jackson Hole earned 16th best resort...in the West!!!

I mean, that place must be not so great for it to get beat out by 15 other places... and that's before we even include the hot Jersey babes at K-ton!

Powder still has cool pictures...but Ski Journal is betterer!
It makes perfect sense...until you think about it.

I suspect there's logic behind the madness, but I'm too dumb to see it.

Seriously, this was some of the best ski journalism I have ever read. I make a point to re-read it before the season starts as a stark reminder how the tiniest shred of comfort, familiarity or complacency, or just letting your guard down for the briefest of moments can have the most tragic results. Especially since they were not deep in the back country, just few steps away from lift accessed, regularly avy bombed terrain. Fucking hell... Frightening...

I used to get excited about it... but now, much like my penis, there is not much to get excited about.

Is Powder Magazine Still Worth Reading?

No, Aspen won it. Vail is a pedestrian no.11. Katz must be having a heartattack.

Fair amount of that, the photography is still awesome though. Just received a second renewal reminder, undecided.

I still subscribe to Powder and Backcountry. Backcountry is far superior these days with their in-depth articles about iconic mountain ranges (Sierra, Elks, etc.), but Powder occasionally has a good story. Not really enthralled with ski pics so their "photo issue" is my least favorite, but I do like quality writing once in a while.

I still get Powder, and will do so as long as Matt Hansen is involved. From the longtime editor of The Avalanche Review.

Is it me or has Powder been really boring this year? A 10 page Lyndsey Vonn article, really?

Powder Magazine is just not necessary. TGR is way better than some deusche bag magazine full of advertisements and superficial reviews that are really just ads. Blister is great though. This place brings way more stoke.

Because you want to portray the, "Look at me, I'm a cool skier," vibe.
