You know if it is all this easy to claim common words at trademarks, why don’t we trademark stuff like “Town” and reap profits with cease and desist letters and offers to settle for nominal sums from every business that is formed and starts making any $ and has that in its name. Do the same for the next top 50 common geographical terms, valley, etc

In the overall scheme of things, is backcountry.com a behemoth?

Always loved customer support on the site, too bad I won't be shopping there anymore.

Watched that anti-weed sheriff pal around with all the county politicos at their big open bar awards thingy, then watched him watch all the open bar drinkers walk right out to their cadillacs and drunk-drive away.

Backcountry.com has been a shit site to shop at for a while now. A few years back, they changed all the units for backpack volume to cubic inches, despite the industry standard being liters. Looking for a new backpack, I had no way of comparing my current backpacks to the new ones without arduous conversions. So I went elsewhere. Same with ski weights, etc into pounds instead of grams.

    Fuck backcountry.com

I'm on board with not shopping at backcountry.com, but
    "arduous conversions"? lol

BC is currently backpedaling and admitting that they made a mistake, quote unquote. Too bad, I ordered a ton of stuff from them over the years as well as Steep and Cheap which is actually the same deal. I think there's a level of wealth where you lose touch of reality and your lawyers reasoning makes sense despite any moral compass whatsoever.

Were people even buying the logo’ed collab merch?

It seems like something a brand ambassador would be required to wear or an employee’s uniform in a brick/mortar store

But I’m not seeing how the goat or backcountry logo adds any desirability to a jacket

Wasnt Basin/Range the replacement for Stoic? Was that stuff selling?

Guy likely goes on days long sufferfest adventures with those backpacks... But a simple Google unit conversation is too much work haha.

    $500m annual revenue.

Not a behemoth in the scheme but look at the rest of TSG’s holdings. I think it’s reasonably likely that pushed the brand strategy and supplied the IPLA lawyers. At a minimum they would have been aware and in approval of the direction ...

But if you read the article, the CEO clearly says that he still wants to reach a deal with the companies they sued... which means he obviously still thinks he's right. So still, #fuckbackcountry
