So I have proposed to my partner that we alter the contract language to suit our needs, sign it, and send it back. Something tells me the secretary who sent it is gonna file it without reviewing the language and we get what we want out of the deal.

The negotiation begins. I wish you luck, but before people/entities dole out money, they usually read just what it is they are getting into. Did you know that my son is a piano/music business major at The University of Miami Frost School of Music? He produces the beats for many hip-hop people in south FL. For the most part, Frost is connected to all things music in Miami. I/m not sure that is can/would help, but if there is anything that you would like me to pass on, send me a PM

The brown M&Ms working theory is going into action on this. We have to say we changed the contract for it to be valid so we're going to bury 'We changed some things' in the middle of a long rambling reply letter about how stoked we are to work with them. Something they'll get a headache reading so it will go unnoticed, we hope.

But here's what we got. They want Big Fun. Which was like the third song we did, so we're gonna do some more.

    ^^ I like it.

I have an author who literally cuts up his contracts with a scissors and tapes it all back together, or just the parts that he wants to keep, then photocopies it and signs it and send it back to us. Drives my boss insane, but we want the guy's books so we have little choice but to go along with it. Cracks me up.

Brown M&Ms made me think of this.

“On April 16th 1993, David Lee Roth was arrested in New York City's Washington Square Park for buying what he described as "$10 worth of Jamaican bunk reefer" from an undercover police officer.

The arrest made headlines and when Howard Stern asked if it was for publicity Roth said, "In New York City this small of a bust is a $35 traffic citation. It literally says 'Buick, Chevy, Other'. Your dog poops on the sidewalk, it's $50. If I was looking for publicity, I would have pooped on the sidewalk."
