Should I be excited I found this in my boutique beer store in PA, or does this mean it’s not cool anymore. Either way, good start to Friday after work drinks.

Obviously it's very difficult to tell who can actually ski until you get in the field. Good on you for having your own requirements (fitness test) to make sure the group would be as safe as possible.
Now you're tempting me to go into a rant about all the people who claim to be "Level 1 CERTIFIED" via a certification of completion for an introductory-level course with no prerequisites, which is more like a certificate of attendance, whether fully awake or otherwise.

I’ll tell my buddies down in that area to keep an eye out for it. Thanks for the offer...I’m headed up to VT in 2 weeks to get a supply of some usual suspects for a graduation party.....

a buddy said he found Fiddlehead up in Binghamton....so maybe it’s slowly migrating down.

Sorry for drift boys....but beer is a good excuse....lol

Since keg sales have dropped to almost nil with all the bars closed for the last 3 months, lots of breweries increased canning and distribution. Fiddlehead IPA in cans was almost non-existent in March (even in VT) and now it's everywhere. I expect that supply to dwindle now that bars are opening back up in VT. Get it while you can!

I really suck at golf. Ask FussyD or MMP. Horrible consistency (none).

S3s have a low speed limit and they can be frightening on ice but in the conditions they're built for, they amaze.

Edited to add: Post # 2,000!

Considering you play once every 3 months (maybe 6) and never swing a club in between you are well above an average golfer...wish I had a legit excuse!

That's the frustrating part. I can hit a stretch where I'll par 7 holes in a row and still end up with a triple digit score. Happens more often than I care to think about.

Looks like my new retirement window is November-December 2021. Winter 21-22 I'm shooting for 100 days on skis. Summer of 22, I'm going to get consistent at golf.

Thanks for that story Boreas. Just shows the passion some people have for things they might not be the best match for.

Tipping a brew [not sipping soup] in his honor right now.

    this seems appropriate

Sad to hear of Keck's passing. That guy certainly led an interesting life.

On another note... Holy cats and dogs rain today. Flood warnings are already up and this storm is supposed to keep going for several more hours. 1-3" per hour rainfall rates in some areas ! That would be impressive if it was snow. Rainfall at that rate is not going to be pretty.

Great combo goal MNIAW: Ski > 100, golf <100. Hit those two numbers and you are living life.....

Saw the short ski stuff. This was as short as I was willing to go. My weapon of choice is a 188 Corvus or a 183 if the Jerry’s are coming on hard. Stoked to smash these off the rocks in 3 months.

Hardly a surprise, but its not looking good for a Killington WC stop this year, even if some sort of WC schedule is under way:

According to a report in SkiNews, the FIS is now targeting mid-August to determine whether or not the World Cup can travel to North America. One option under consideration would be for North America to host only speed events in Lake Louise and Beaver Creek, which would spare tech athletes from having to travel overseas. This option would be in accordance with a proposition to have the speed circuit operate separately from the tech circuit, thereby eliminating combination races.

Glad I spectated both days last year...
