hell yea it counts. esp when in jersey!
glad you're back out and pretty good after an injury is great. some of what you're feeling is just rust.
    congrats and hope you take it outside soon :0}

22` breezy w/ light snow falling bob. 1/2" of new snow between 10pm and 7:20am combined with 6" of wet powder that fell yesterday has settled to 4 7/8" of dense dried powder. Should be good out there today. Talked to a neighbor whilst shoveling yesterday and he said upper mountain was good but lower down was a shitshow of bad skiing and dangerous. Heard several ambulances and saw a couple on a trip to town. Watch out for kooks.

Windy and colder for todays 5240' of tour. Hooked up with an old [60] friend to crank it out with. 16740' for the week, value pass good at south tomorrow, thank goodness as snorth doesn't do it for me and teh crowds be gone.
Stake at 28" isn't great, but there is some skiing out there.

Lets us rip around for a bit. Pretty sweet deal, but more sweeter when we’re all ripping around together!

Jhyatt - great skiing with you, and great shot. Thanks for showing us around. I wish I'd taken more photos, but the only ones I've got are of the uptrack. Let's tour again soon.

Nice little refresher happening in south-central. Thinking about burning a IKON day at Kmart on Wednesday.

Weekend storm wasn't huge but 5 inches made for some grin inducing turns at Mt. Ellen. Found some great stashes and they had Foam Bonus Track on tap at the bar. I'll take it.

Next weekend's forecast looks like back to fat biking for the near future.

I may burn one tomorrow. Looks like more snow Tuesday night so Wednesday could be good, too.

    Thanks Goniff.

For anybody thinking about it, Gore almost never gets significant lake effect, but this afternoon there was an intense band that pounded for about 2 hours, maybe 4 inches at the base. I can't be there tomorrow, but it could be a decent opportunity if you got fat skis for low tide, and you enjoy low angle trees.

^^ yup just re-read fox's call for weekend. thinking warmer rain to south a better bet than freezing rain up north.
there! just jinxed the shitty weather.

will focus on how this past weekend was supposed to be bad.

...and yea have been meaning to check out gore one of these years.

That one works at Jay also. So much snow there now. Another good day there today.

If anyone here uses a Mobil gas station that does this but doesn't use the the two for one... Please hook me up! Thanks. It can be mailed and I will make it worth your time.

Ironically, this is usually the time he goes out west and then complains more about EC conditions and mountains.

Come on, Benny. You know that being a skier on the EC is a labor of love.

Somehow everyone else on this thread seems to understand and are sympatico. It’s a bond that defines us. Yet you’re the only one on here that is out of sync with those sympathies. Maybe if you could figure out a way to reforge that bond you could rebuild your reputation.

Go overnight and ski true north and post a TR about how absolutely miserable you were the whole time until you got back to your car exhausted and realized you had the time of your life.

Nobody needs to be told how much things here can suck. They want to hear about how great the experiences can be.
