    East MF Coast 19/20.

Wow, today was very good in southern VT. Never turned to rain on the top half of the hill. More of that sweet, dry and loose stuff.

Heading to the Post Office to send some sticks up north for the Peruvian.
    Whoop-Whoop

Edit: best of luck guy, hope it’s just a sprain also.
Double edit: I’m never going back to a four-buckle overlap. How come no one told me about these 3 piece units?

Found the goods this morning, 3 mile skin, horrible ‘schwack up to a ridge, only to find white gold. Took a few laps and headed home dreading the woods I passed on the up, only to find another slightly tighter glade 100 yards or so from my up track. Click image for larger version.

In times past, the ‘schwackery back out was about the same time as the approach. This time I did it in almost a third of the time. 6+miles and roughly 3,500 vert for the downhill.

Aim for the chopping block. If you aim for the wood, you will have nothing. Aim past the wood, aim through the wood.

Yep im guessing joe louis. Seen some big debris piles in there before. They went out when the avy danger was considerable in the alpine. Not smart. Hope they're ok.

Little post-work doggie skin provided some great views.

As the bark eaters say, best thing about VT is the view of NY.

Snow was pretty beat, funky crust in the woods but packed trail skied well.

As others have said, skiing is fun.

    East MF Coast 19/20.

    From Avy Quebec

“A large accidental avalanche was triggered Wednesday morning by a group of skiers on a north slope in the alpine (Joe Louis) in the Mines Madeleine area.”

Edit to add, CBC article just updated, one of the injured died from injuries.

Thx for the link. Took a sec for the Anglos to pick it up.

The French article didn’t mention that they were 4 and two in the party dug them out. Must have been a big slide. It did mention that they were not from the area.

I’ve had a couple of my all time rides there. But it’s a big open face. Not a good place to be when the risk is considerable. I would imagine a heck of a slog out of there if your injured.

Headed up there next week. We were planning to do a day in Mines madeleine but this may deter a few of my friends. Any suggestions for other must skis?
