Not running until they get more snow. Hope springs eternal, though, and that place is really special when it's up and running, otherwise just use it teach your daughter to skin up

I think of the Wrens as great for balls to the wall, full throttle all over the damn place skiing and Woodsman retaining an effective charge-ability but while allowing you to more easily control the pace and turn radius. They are flat out easier to ski without giving much up in comparison to the Wren unless 100% mach looney is your thing.

At 45 (read aging) and owner of Wrens (x4) all my future purchases are likely to be Woodsman and I like stiff and demanding skis. Very curious to ski the Woodsman 108 in comparison to my Wren 108.
yea good description of the wrens. i find the lhasa's to be the usual-go-to but monday's steepish, spring-ish groomers prompted only my second run on the wrens all season. i stuck with them for the final 2hrs of the day. in that setting they felt great. smooth, torsionally stiff, and no unwanted feedback. too much ski in tight woods or bumps. ha, i only have one pair. i do have 4 pairs of nordica W9.1FF - W105s...but those haven's been on snow since i got the wrens!

Sunday River also has an open-during-windhold T-Bar (otherwise competition programs only). Some of the operators are better then others at recognizing who is or isn't a racer, but I wouldn't suggest you *plan* on riding it unless enough lifts are down to trigger the windhold clause (details are on the SR site).

GMVS and Killington also have racer-only surface lifts, so the best option is clearly to take up racing.

They are finding it’s not as protected as they hoped. There’s apparently some wind directions that it will be one of the earlier lifts to go on hold.

I’ve got some Woods 96 for this season but only have about 5 days so far. Doremite has a spot on description.
My 2 cents: On some Wren 98s last year. Wrens definitely a charger and was fun on groomers and crud. I ordered the Woods with a softer layup for bumps and tight trees. So far very happy with the Woods. Not nearly as demanding as the Wrens. Tails are way easier to break out off on the Woods, which is a good thing for me.

At the risk of getting lambasted for posting this here, can anyone recommend a good shop in Southern/Central NH that installs inserts? (quiver killer, binding freedom)

Didn't see bunny out, no surprise there, but the dead porcupine I saw yesterday that fought a losing battle with a bobcat was moved overnight. Bobcat still hasn't gotten into the filling yet.

We finally got a base lodge at the local powder stash. There was excellent soup on the Coleman stove but I forgot to take a picture of it.

Fussy D helped me learn more about my newly adopted hill today. Guided us (friend from Magic came up with a buddy) into the amazing side country stashes. It had been tracked into PP but it was a great first foray into that zone and I am excited for more.

Did you ask "THE LOCALS" for permission to ski there?

If FD didn’t come today, I was getting to the point of just following a group into the woods, but staying back 25’ and coming to a stop each time they stopped so I could keep lurking like a creep. That’s what the tourons from the big city due, right?

Solid day, I'm just glad mine didn't end on the first run failed landing faceplant, things were a little fuzzy there for a few minutes ...some day I'll learn to keep my board on the snow.
