Best weekend in the East in quite some time. Was fortunate to have my schedule work out to be situated up north before the storm, ski in it Friday, as well as Sat-Mon. And also enjoy it all with my family and some friends. First trip for my kid to the ADKs as well. Stoke was high in all aspects of the weekend. Will be a very memorable one.Click image for larger version.

    Have fun, Rob.

BCG was NOT in, though we did manage to get down alive. Down low it was actually pretty fun. Up higher there are a lot of evergreen saplings that made it tricky.

GF skied better, but there are 2 nasty layers of crust everywhere throughout the zone, and some rotten snow between them and underneath. Be careful! It was a dog to manage.

I actually manged to trigger some small slabs (really had to jump on it) on the steep section below the traverse. They did not carry very far, but keep that in mind if you ever decide to head to the waterfall this season.

I hope the Zone gets the higher end of the forecast for you, to fill in our tracks. If not, I apologize! Can't make it Thurs to break trail, unfortunately, but I've got a bead on a nearby spot that will prob be in once BCG is... I'll let you know when I decide to explore it.

    Have fun, and be safe.

Cat said it was like skiing in a glass of milk, super low cloud ceiling and freezing mist. 10 runs over an hour forty five, clear frozen mist from goggles on chair, ski with poles in one hand to clear new mist on the ski down groomers, repeat. Wanted to grind out some moguls and it was annoying to have to stop to clear when vision got to 10%.

Snow on groomers, bumps was really nice and it was ski on. Short woods section skied on way home was fun damp powder that required speed. Yard snow has a mini crust on top that won't cause any issues. New snow coming in should make Thursday the best of the next ten with Prezy week on tap. Friday will be mind numbingly cold. Wouldn't expect the incoming crowd until Friday afternoon though Thursday will get the locals out in force.

That retired song thread has me agreeing with retiring the Stones unless this gem, [and some more b sides were brought out and played] played on Deep Tracks on my way back from Maine, was in rotation on classic rock FM

    Solid work above all

T, great to see you back on snow! Still hoping to get over there but had some shitty personal news last week that will now make that weekend a no go.

No action shots here either, too good to stop until I did a solo lap after my buddy had to split. Fully stuffed and snowed moderately most of the afternoon. Get it while it's good, next week looks like a roll of the dice.

Another question if I may. I'm supposed to go to Waterville Valley this weekend to meet some people. I've never been there but the hill looks like shit. Any advice?

I went on Youtube and this is a double black there.

I have skied there more than I would had I not been the recipient of free tickets

But yeah, double black? No way. That chair does have decent pitch and can be fun. Gemma ciao and true grit are good for a few laps. Once you get bored, poach Bobby’s run if there is enough coverage.
I’ve lapped that multiple times figuring the worst they would do is pull my ticket.

The front has decent pitch and length. But nothing amazing. At least it’s a fast quad.

There’s a run under far skiers left lift that is classic New England two bump wide chute.

Overall meh but much better than wisconsin

Thanks, VTF. As of now, we'll be at MRG Thursday and Sugarbush Friday. Nice hardware there. I'm still recovering from my 1/1/19 impact...

No, don't go there. That place is always a sheet of ice.

The shot with the pudgy kid trying to start a weedwacker is gold. Nice lil five minute feelgood.

Enjoying the shots from the systems that were just rain in Boston. And that wing imprint at the end of the squirrel track is pristine.

Got a rehearsal in NH tonight so probably gonna stay up there and ski Cannon tomorrow, if anyone wants to hop on a twofer for the sheet of ice.

Fuck dudes, I was wrong before. Today was the best day we’ll get this season! Perfect, dry packed and loose powder. 26 degrees and sunny.
New fucking boots; also. Can’t believe how much I like this three piece design. I have never felt so connected to the snow. Krypton 120’s, Moose Kawks!

Glad to see that you haven’t suffered any long term effects from your time on the big mountain on the Eastern Horizon. Nice job on 50!
