The way it should be. Nothing wrong with local rippers skinning up and keeping it mellow on the down imo. Same as the locals (accentuate locals) riding sherburne or gos ski trail for exercise.

I'd honestly feel safer doing that than relying on mtn bike parts not to fail and possibly throw me for a tumble.

Living the same thing over here. My old lady is a nurse at one of the hotspot hospitals in town. She just got more days added to her work schedule. I think we are both resigned to the fact that we will eventually get it. Hopefully not. Seems like a doozy. Stay safe folks.

A lot of our friends in healthcare have already come up with or already made “sick” and healthy zones of their homes with the assumption it’s when not if they get it. They’ve made plans for hotel rooms or rooms in family or extended family scenarios. Also, morbid but almost everyone is getting their wills and details ironed out.

Honest thanks and vibes to everyone on the front lines for this thing.

I just went to see my man to re-up, ten minute drive, no one on the roads. Will this lower the temperature of the earth, and if so, will next winter be fucking huge?

If there's any silver lining, its the fact that the Earth is loving this pandemic. I'm seeing lots of people out, picking up trash along their neighborhood roads too.

New Vermont updates include 14day shelter in place if you arrive from out of state and NO stopping for supplies on this side of the border. Working on 40 lodging facilities that still have guests in noncompliance with shut down order. Short term rentals, Airbnb ect, are no longer allowed.

Thundersleet last night was odd. There was a massive strike very near my house that split the sky. Loudest clap of thunder I have ever heard, sound wave literally shook the house for 3-4 seconds as it bounced around.

Random question - I would like to post a massive photo dump from the last four/five seasons. I used to use Picasa, which was fairly easy to link to. Picasa became google photos and it just doesn’t work anymore. I’ve tested other photo sharing sites and can’t get anything to work in previews. Anyone have any tips? Thanks!

Looks as though the USFS and MWAC are at this point attempting to discourage recreation in Tuckerman Ravine and elsewhere on Mt. Washington by merely no longer providing avalanche forecasting. Besides the usual annual closure of the Tuckerman Ravine Trail through the lip area, apparently there will be no other formal "closures". Pinkham Notch and Hermit Lake are closed and there are no services provided but it doesn't look like there will be any attempt to limit access to parking or access to any trailheads.

It will be interesting to see if this approach actually works to limit the numbers of people accessing Tuckerman Ravine and increase "social distancing".

    Seconded on the baby goats!

Join Tapatalk and use that for TGR. You can then select all the pics in your library. Easy with iOS haven’t tried with google etc.

I honestly had a similar line of thinking. Can't help but notice how nice and quiet the city is right now, the air seems fresher and the birds seem louder.

Sugarloaf put the brakes on all skinning after a multitude of incidents forced the issue. 260 cars at condos over the weekend, many from out of state, parking lot tailgate sessions, hill totally tracked out, Bullwinkles was broken into and the cherry on top was a BBQ party on the deck of the Shipyard Inn on Saturday.

Post went up on FB yesterday telling everyone to stand down, it's over and hopefully strict enforcement won't be necessary. Today the electronic sign went up on the access road, 60 minute parking lot barricaded and the rest of the lots got snow banks pushed up on the entrances.

Sorry folks the park is closed, moose out front should've told ya
