Never thought I’d say this but I wish Ellen had a better lodge. haha

Green mtn express and Inverness have been avoiding the windhold, North ridge not so much. Burned 7ish laps on the day thus far. Snow is actually fine, quite good actually. Staying dry despite the rain pissing down.

Looks like a good dose coming for New Years Eve - Looks like Ossipee,NH area is bullseye, 16-24" - good for the sledders, great snowmobiling around there.

    A coupla things....

As of 15 minutes ago, most non-snowmaking trails at Magic had a very thin layer of snow on them...lots of grass and rocks poking through. Don't know if that layer will survive the night.

On the pre-open skin...the mountain has asked that we not do that on pow days and for the most part, people are complying. Please don't be that guy that fucks up the most chill uphill policy in VT.

O'dark thirty start from home. Slick and firm, but not bad for skinning on the Tuckerman Ravine Trail. A bit under an hour and a half to Hojo's.

The Bowl was fully socked in so I went over to the Sherby and went up to the Hillman's Junction. The plank was there, but it was over open water.

Spring-like conditions on the Sherburne, but mostly firm in the middle. It was skiing so I enjoyed the run, but it was not pleasant. Decent cigar though...

32` light breeze and a record setting 3/16 of fresh snow bob.

Delayed openings today whilst additional late grooming is happening. They groomed mid mountain and up early last night before it froze and I see a trio of cats on Lower OG/Jester right now. Sharpen those rails and get some.

Sounds like K lost power in some places, shuttle busses emptying people out of Bear. Oy.

If you're gonna pop a shoulder and be on the bench for a while, guess this is the best time for it. Sun on a dog's ass and all that.

    Rock on y'all.

One storm can change everything. I'll never complain about weather like this in late December. Glorious outside today.

Brought my skis and bike to Bolton today, rode for two hours on nordic trails and then left. Hope we get a stormm that changes it soon, although biking is quite fun.

    Lemonade time today

Fired up the smoker and started a 7lb brisket brined 5 days for pastrami.
Spent a couple hours with the binocs watching some amusing gorilla "skiing" on Steins. I estimate one victim must have fallen 55 times by the bottom. Got some trim rabbited for a project as well, so sunny and warm.
