I’ve only skied the mines, but there’s good stuff just farther down the road that is pretty accessible for a day trip, hogs back, champ de mars, and lyall. Those 3 are well detailed in the guidebook. There is low risk stuff in mines but prob not worth the 12km hike/sled ride

Cool. We are planning on lyall, hog's back and maybe mines if we can get a sled ride in there. Thanks!

if you go to mines, rocket and shaft and the trees below them (lookers right of S and S') are pretty good lower risk and accessible spots to ride.

What days are you going? we'll be there on Feb 29

I’d say it’s relevant, RASTA chaps his ass about the same as KT and could be his next target.

if you're heading to mines, the trees to the right of S are great, in front of your face, and usually lower danger if you start well below the ridge.

there are too many options to mention if you're driving around for day trips, just keep the avy forecast in mind and play accordingly.

If the conditions look safe, it's definitely worth a skin into the Patroller's Wall

Spent tons of time skiing in the Gaspe', mostly touring around Mines in the 90's in the days before maps and phones. Fun place but tread carefully.

The left is over the hill from Mines and Lac du American is over the ridge on the left image

Don't miss the Benny Couloir on the Patrollers Wall, it's better than the name would imply, though very avi prone.

Cool pics ! Xalibu is definitely a long skin. Better when it's a drive then a shorter skin

    From this past weekend...

Kingdom-Tele concurs that skiing is fun

And DaveVT can get fucked. Kingdom Trails had already taken a huge hit (and rightfully so). Changes in operation were on the horizon, he didn't have to go and poor gas in the fire by weaponizing Act250 to fit his agenda. This region is going to suffer a lot financially if Kingdom Trails can't operate.
