This type of zoo sounds like fun, it's just that damn line for the single chair.........

I know the Ops Manager at MRG (he used to run things at Magic). Last year, I asked him if I should go to MRG or Stowe on the $3.50 day. He said, "You don't want to be here for that shitshow."

It's one of those things...you can go, embrace the shitshow and enjoy, or you can stay away. Any other option will lead to disappointment. Show up early, the limiting factor there is parking.

Also, embracing the shitshow is probably more of a challenge when you're trying to keep all the puzzle pieces going in the right direction.

Is this "throwback day" usually a zoo?
done throwback once on a day after a storm. crowded but not terrible. great ski day and vibe.
mlk sunday was terrible (watched webcam); yesterday was country-club perfect. definitely worth doing.

edit: then again i just skiied there nearly bell to bell and never waited for a chair so i may be a bit biased;0]

Is the soup also discounted, or just lift tickets?

Three pages of assorted questions and comments on this event, and nobody asks this? I'll pm Bluebird if nobody here has an answer.

Not many pics from this weekend. I was solo and sick on Monday, so I didn't want bite off a serious BC tour. Settled for sloppy seconds on Cardigan. Snow was choppy and thin, but soft, and the views were great.

^^ dangur : stayed in the high cabin at cardigan a couple of times...always thought the skiing options - beyond the designated trails - would be good if enough snow (like the 'above tree line' zone and a big waterfall we came across.)

I have heard that the summit snowfields are nice when they are in.

There *appear* to be lots of glade glade shots visible from the various skin tracks and ski trails. One was even sufficiently tempting that I ditched my intended line of descent to try it out... quickly ended up in jail. Oh well. Still, I have to believe there's some tree line out there that goes.

Okay, I had to dig back ten years for this, but hopefully someone enjoys it.... throwback Tuesday:

I despise MRG, Alta, and Deer Valley for their ban of snowboarders. It's the most archaic discriminating policy in the industry. I'd love to open a mountain and ban skiers. That would be gold. And yeah, as most of you kooks know, I am a skier. The fact I cannot hang with good friends and ride a great hill, two in fact, DV meh, is super annoying.
