Too many electronics on a wooden counter top.....OR over leveraged themselves this fall on gear then watched their year wash away with the Christmas High Water and needed a recoup. No arson investigation in Vt unless someone dies...

Anyone hear anything about a death at Okemo after a fall from the lift? DART ride to Lebanon and then pronounced DOA? My kids all claim this is fact (with one eye witness), but I can't find any mention of it in the news.

    Hope it's false info.

Sad but true. Heard it was on the Six pack bubble. Wicked windy and the bubble was up, caught the wind and tilted it backwards. He slipped out. Just awful.

Seems like a fatal flaw in these bubbles. I've had the bubble up in calm winds on Snowden at the base and then unexpected high winds at the top pitching the chair backwards. Would not be surprised to see a law suit against Okemo and the bubble lift co. for negligent design, lift operation, etc.

No, the bar can be down with the bubble up. When I’m on those lifts I let the bar and bubble go up on its own as it enters the top shack. If it’s warm out, like it was on Sunday, folks will ride up with the bubble up and the bar down. As they get close to the shack, folks will put the bar up, not realizing that it goes up automatically as you enter the top shack. I’m assuming this was the case on Sunday. Tragic.

On the one at Killington you can have the bar down with the bubble up but a small person could easily slip under the bar if the chair was tilted back far enough. If you put the bar up a tower or two before the top, like many people do, high winds at the top could pitch out any size person.

Yeah, not good. Seems like these lifts would have a different wind threshold for operating, but who can predict a gust. Bubbles have always seemed like a bad idea.

Since I brought it up and you made unfounded and accusatory speculations:
    https://www.valleyreporter.com/index...village-square
The fire started in the roof of Infinite Sports at 5:30 a.m., according to witnesses
    and randomly...
Those who had Sunday newspapers reserved at Mehuron's can pick them up at Irasville Country Store.

In other news a noodle bowl place going in between mad taco and mehurons...

Pizza Soul from Sugarbush Village is in the former Cupcake place.

Death at Okemo, sad that is.

Interesting, no one died in the Barre Granite shed fire, but multiple local authorities are investigating.

Also, the BC will be back up and running by Sunday, maybe Saturday.

Not many takers today but the skiing was rather pleasant.

Sucks to hear about Okemo incident. The wind can really whip at the crest of that Hill. Had the shit scared out of me on the Collins Lift years ago when the wind caught my Pontoons and tried to rip me off that bar-less lift.

There were a couple incidents of arson in downtown Barre last year. I bet they're looking for foul play.
